Easy to find, roadside parking. Tunnel trail sign just inside the gates

A good medium difficulty hike. Basically all uphill to Inspiration Point. The nice thing about that is it’s all downhill going back. Parts of the trail are shaded, so you can stop to rest in the shade if you’d like. It’s almost exactly two miles up and two miles back. Take water, even for the short hike. Also, it’s a bit confusing to get to Inspiration Point because you have to take smaller trails off the main trail. There are a lot of other trails in the area too, so it’s a good place to go hiking.

Really pretty views of Santa Barbara, the ocean, and the Channel Islands below. The trails are nice but hot in the mid day sun.

No, the trail is not closed.

Do you need hiking poles?

Definitely not. Here and there people will casually have them, but they arent necessary. The steepest places have rocks that create the effect of stairs, but that's about it.
