Drought has made a meadow where a lot of lake used to be. Still lovely.

Beautiful and scenic hike around a mountain lake. Easy trail for wheelchairs and strollers as well.

I haven't seen any bears or mountain lions in that area so you're good. You might see a deer or a moose though.
.7 miles per the sign in the visitor center. Mostly flat, easy walk around beautiful Silver Lake. I took my boys in a sport double stroller when the were little with no problem. Highly recommended!
This particular canyon is a watershed canyon and there are lots of signs posted prohibiting dogs
Not sure. We went 3 weeks back. That time it was full of snow.
It's full of snow right now.
No, enjoy it whenever you like.
They don't really have a good way to close off access, so I doubt it, but you should call to make sure.
No. You would need to bring up a small propane stove for cooking.
There is a well-maintained trail all around the lake with a nice boardwalk over swampy sections on the parking lot / Brighton Loop side. When open, there is a nice little Ranger Station / interpretive center with a few displays for children. Also has nice bathrooms and cool water. There are a few picnic tables near the outside bathrooms (yes, with flush toilets / running water)
