Beautiful low key fishing and swimming area. Great place to watch the boats and Cruise Ships come & go from Port Canaveral.

, I would like to be there. Thanks a lot. That's right, because you take a shower for taking off the sand and the water salt of the sea. Julio Antonio Lara. Guatemalan.
Usually from the beginning of April to the end of August. Basically they start at Spring break and stop when the new school year begins
Right next to you... go left, & loo left...parking is free until 10pm
Only Service animals are allowed at Cherie Down Park. The only county managed dog friendly beach we have is Canova Beach Park located in Indialantic. The City of Cocoa Beach has a portion available to dogs with time restrictions. We recommend you visit their website for further information. https://www.cityofcocoabeach.com/192/Beach-Rules
I was just there on Saturday and it's not bad at all. Chilly at first but acclimates quickly
The park is named for Cherie Down, who was the Brevard County Biologist at the time of her death in 1981 at the age of 43. Cherie came to the United States from Iran when she was a young girl and attended Berea College in Kentucky, earning a degree in biology. She spent most of her professional career working for Brevard County on environmental issues. There is a plaque in a native coquina stone base in the park that has a tribute to her.
Yes! There are 2 outdoor showers that have a shower head for the foot level and head level. They can be funky and won't turn off. If this happens be responsible and dont let it run! All you have to do and somewhat hit the button with your palm and it will stop. I see some people just leave it running. Theres alot of sand from people washing equipment so be mindful. Have fun and pick up a piece of trash on the beach or two
The park itself & parking lot, including the bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. However the beach entrance does have stairs both up & down to get over the protective dune to get to the beach itself. There is a ramp, but that only gets you halfway up the stairs then there are steps down to get to the beach level.
Technically in Florida it is illegal to have a fire, a dog, a horse, or alcohol on any beach. Parasites and bacteria live well in the wet environment. Recently in South Florida, some people suffered severe staph skin infections that came from dog feces and these people spent weeks in the hospital. Leave your dog at home
Cherry Downs is limited parking but free. Best time to get there for a space is 9am. Good luck and have fun! It has bathroom facilities and outside shower. Enjoy the shaded pavillion with bbq grill.
The above answers are correct. On a side note the bathrooms are single stall for men and single for women. But they are pretty rough. I try to go before I get there.
Canova Beach in Melbourne I think there is a dog beach in Titusville as well
Don't see why not.
Unless you go across to the next parking lot that is all sand. No ramps no steps. It is completely open to Cherie Down Park. Meaning there is handicap parking spots. Then there's a walkway that leads over to the parking on the street and and a ramp leading to the beach. The sand is very loose and any wheel needs to be to be wide or however it can be to go through the sand easily.
