Walking on this launchpad is pretty wild. Knowing that such history took place there and that heroes lost their lives there makes it surreal. It is beautiful and somber at the same time. There is a nice area of benches dedicated to the three astronauts that lost their lives in the fire during a test launch. There is also an area explaining Launch Complex 34 and more about the astronauts and their mission. You can see blast blockades and other remnants of structures that have been worn down by the natural elements of Cape Canaveral.
