I am only giving 2 stars because the people in this establishment were attentive servers and friendly and great. However, for a fine dining seafood restaurant, the food was incredibly disappointed. We wait over an hour to be seated and then waited an equal hour for our food. Our food did not come to us until after 9pm. When we then learned once we finished the very plain, overpriced food, that the establishment closed at 9pm, an hour ago, and they no longer had coffee refreshments for after meal. When I say the food was plain, it was so plain. I order the company platter with a selection of seafood, my crab cake had shell in so much of it and no seasoning to taste, I may as well slurped the meat straight from the shell, the shrimp were rubber and hard, so over cooked and bland, the flounder was tasteless, mushy in the middle. Incredibly disappointing. As an appetizer we order tuna bites, that came to us so highly seasoned you cant taste the tuna and then the tuna itself was incredibly dry and over cooked. So sad. There is no recommendation for this place. I hope the server we had can find a place that matches her excellent service, for it's sad she probably suffers from the kitchens lack of quality. Also, 4 adults will easily spend over 200 for dinner, so it's a very high price to pay and long wait to be had for sadly cooked seafood. Find somewhere else to go.

It's a nice restaurant. The food was really mediocre at best. Ordered the catfish dinner...catfish extremely over cooked and had no flavor. The coleslaw was old. I've been to this restaurant 3 times now and it's just not consistent. It's a shame. It could be a fabulous place with the right cooks and tweaking the menu. I would also suggest changing the size of the beverage glasses so people can have something to drink while waiting on their food. Too small. And one last thing. As we were leaving, a manager I assume, publicly reprimanded two employees who were at the front desk, in front of a crowd of people. Loudly. THAT was unprofessional and humiliating for the employees and the waiting patrons. Perhaps management needs to be trained in people skills. It's conveniently located from the ferry...if you want okay food, then visit. The view is nice, but don't expect anything grand.

The Surry Seafood Co. was mostly empty when we arrived, 3 or 4 other tables had diners. Server was nice, helpful, not particularly helpful with water and coffee refills. The Surry Seafood Co. food was okay but not outstandingly good. Unfortunately, the inside of Surry Seafood Co. was dirty. The tables were slick with some sort of material that had not been cleaned. Counters and window sills were greasy. The lack of care was completely off-putting. I, nor my friends nor family, will not go to the Surry Seafood Co. again. Surry Seafood Co. will not receive a positive recommendation from me.

Top to Bottom Cleaning

We had heard good things from friends about this restaurant. We looked at the menu online ahead of time and were actually turned away by the prices, but decided to give it a shot anyway since we were in the area. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our waitress was awesome despite how busy they were. Our only complaint was the tables were too close together and we felt crowded, but that didn't seem to ruin our experience nonetheless. We will be back when it warms up and eat off outside admiring the scenic views!!
