Elderwood Assisted Living at Cheektowaga

My mother was sent to Elderwood for rehab. We kept getting great reviews on her progress. Unfortunately, during Covid times we could not get into the facility to see her. When my mother returned home her condition was not anything like we expected. She was so weak that she could not lift her leg up one step. Lucky I arrived just in time. Otherwise my sister would have had to place her an the ground and call for help. My sister is a retired nurse and stayed overnight with her. The next day the VNA nurse stopped over to see her. She immediately called for a ambulance to take my mother back to the hospital. She had pneumonia with a 102 degree temperature among other issues. There is no way Elderwood should have sent my mother home. If I could give them a rating less than one star I would!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Elderwood at Cheektowaga. Both of my parents lived there in the skilled nursing facility for the last two years until their deaths. My Father died in January 2020 and my Mother in April 2020. During their time at Elderwood Cheektowaga, my parents received the best care possible. The staff treated them with professionalism, respect and love in all matters. I cannot imagine a better place for them to have spent the last years of their lives. Thank you!

Wonderful facility & a caring staff. It's clean, smells good. Appropriate activities for the residents & they follow up on everyone's care. The only complaint is the food is not always tasty per some residents. But I will say that the residents are use to home cooked food.

Would NOT recommend! If you can go somewhere else I would. Understaffed and overworked nursing staff, horrible food and takes forever to get problems resolved. Not to mention if they do not have a transport van available, YOU have to pay to picked up by another company! Save yourself the trouble!
