Please note that the only time I will ever write a negative review about a business is if I genuinely believe that bad juju is going down and that it is in customers' best interests to be informed. That said, if you want to support a decent small business that takes their work seriously...do NOT go to Donovan's. When I entrust a "professional" to do a job, especially in an artistic industry like framing, I expect that (a) they know what they are doing, and (b) that they will strive to do their best. The owner of Donovan's is in the habit of taking shortcuts. He does not seem to care about or even enjoy his line of work, except to make a buck. Instead of taking the extra time to do something the right way, he frequently chooses to do it the cheap, quick way. It's about on par with what you would get from a Michael's, but five times the price. Do not be surprised if your framing project falls apart days or weeks later. Please do not settle for something precariously slapped together. Go to a business where they care. Make it worth your while.

James, the owner of Donovan’s was by far the best framer and most professional coworker I’ve had. We framed together in Florida around 2008-2010 for several years and his management and mentorship brought our frameshop awards as the top frame shop within the southeast 13 states in a private national-competition. This was all due to James’ dedication to the quality of the framing work and the experience to work efficiently and meet customer deadlines. Our customers were always happy with James personally and he enabled us to branch out and work on advanced projects such as art restoration and framing of non-traditional objects. His experience helped us meet any challenge. I cannot recommend Donovan’s or James more highly, he has the artistic background to treat each and every piece with the care and preservation methods necessary, all while being a powerhouse meeting and exceeding customer expectations. The reason I think we did so well all those years ago is because James’ high-quality work and warm customer service always ensured repeat business. He cared more about truly complementing the customer artwork rather than upselling, and I think our clients felt that and came back time and time again because of the trust built. Highly recommend!

Excellent store and owner! Not only is the framing work superb, but there are so many other gift and specialty items that you can’t find elsewhere! I highly recommend Donovan’s and Mr Trimm!
