My brother was a resident in the longterm care nursing facility before he passed. He was previosly living in assisted living and a nursing home. The Soldiers Home was by far the best place for him. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and respect they gave my brother. He loved living there and we knew he was being taken care of by some of the best nurses staff I have ever met. He loved the food, and it is one of the cleanest places he's lived in. Everyone on the staff, from the nurses, to the plumbers, to the aides and therapists, are so kind and friendly. If you are a veteran or have a relative that is a veteran and needs care, do not hesitate to be put on the waiting list. Take a tour of the place and meet the people who work there. You won't be disappointed.

The word love is an over exaggeration. On my tour of duty(job) I had the pleasure of visiting the Chelsea soldiers home and out side looking in the place seemed well organized and the veterans that assisted me where very respectful and eager to help.

My experience ended with me breaking the rules. But if you're a veteran and need a roof over your head and want to get off the street and start over, its dynamite. It's like having a home. The men and women who live their want the same things. Plus movies in the theater.

My uncle Mike passed peacefully last night in the presence of his favorite caregivers. On behalf of Michael Flaherty's family, I wanted to say thank you. I am his niece, my mother Paula was Mike's youngest sister..but I know all of you know my Aunt Linda and most of our other family that were visitors for Mike. We are truly thankful for the quality of care and compassion that you guys showed my Uncle in the years he was there. We knew the nature of his condition but you guys never faltered in your care for him...my heart is filled with gratitude when I think about how amazing all of you are. My family and I live in Virginia because my husband and I were both in the US Navy so we weren't able to be there with Michael the way we wanted to. We always knew he was in good hands with you and all of us knew how dedicated the staff is to the Veterans and their families. To David, Nancy, Fatima, Donna, and all the others at Chelsea, I wish there was more we could do for you guys to show our appreciation. Thank you for giving him the most out of life, you are with us always

Do you take donations of tvs

No need for tv donations because each veteran has a tv at each and every bedside for his own personal use. But you can contact the country store inside of the soldiers home its an in house kind of flea market that takes donations to use as merchandise and the profits go to the veterans for outings and entertainment. An excellent opportunity to donate to make the veterans lives more fun

Has any of the family members been able to be attend the furneral of veterans who passed at the home. ??

Dear people duri my tour of duty (job) I had the privilege to visit the Chelsea soldiers home. And the only thing that I can say is"Out side looking in" the place looks well managed and the people that assisted me were very courteous. I know that this doesn't answer your question but I will not speak on anything that I have know knowledge of. So, please have a nice day.

Still closed, no plans to ever reopen as far as I or the staff know. Probably just some old data still stuck in the web.
