Beautiful overlook at Walker Point Lookout Deck, in the heart of West Barnstable Conservation Area. The Deck at Walker Point was built In Memory of Steven D. Walker.

Love the trails that lead to this spot. Check out a detailed trail map by googling West Barnstable Conservation Map so you don’t get lost. Lots of trails to bike, and getting to this spot can be a great destination for your ride. I took my Onewheel here

Questions & Answers

Where can I park to get access to the trail? I tried navigating there with my Jeep and there only was a driveway leading to a house.

There is also a small parking area at the end of Popple Bottom Road which is off Great Hill Road via old exit 4 (Sandwich/East Sandwich/Mashpee Exit) off US-6 if entering from Sandwich. The small parking area is meant for hikers & visitors to West Barnstable Conservation Area so it is legal to park here. There is a driveway leading to a house across from the parking area but the home owners are aware of the parking area & they're 2 separate properties. This is where I park when visiting The Deck at Walker Point, it's a 6 - 10 minute walk from parking area to The Lookout Deck. You walk straight in for approx. 4 mins then take your first left at the 4 way intersection (there are old signs on a tree). Continue after taking the left for 2 - 3 mins then take either of the next 2 rights up the steep hill, I recommend the second partially paved option as it's a much easier walk uphill. Take path on right at top of hill & Deck is 1 minute ahead on right.

What is the old foundation behind Walker point? There is a paved road from Old Mill near Great Hill Rd and sandwich. Also, near the base of the hill, is another large cinderblock foundation..

I have been told that it was from World War two used as a lookout post. Could be wrong.
