I've come to Botany Bay every time I've visited Edisto Island. The natural and 'untouched' beach area is absolutely beautiful. The history of Botany Bay is very interesting as well. I always recommend Botany Bay to anyone who has visited or plans to visit Edisto Island. If you don't go to Botany Bay, you’re missing out!

Wild, unique and fun. So many pelicans flying over very low.

Such a beautiful, unspoiled beach! Peaceful walk through the marsh to the beach. The drive around the Preserve is lovely with views of the marsh and plentiful live oaks. No restrooms on site and road is very rough so be prepared. Totally worth the trip!

Not on the beach. the beach is a protected area. But you can bring your dog everywhere else as long as it is leashed. There is a decent trail on the back side that hardly anyone uses. when you are driving, there are a couple of side paths/road where vehicles are not allowed. those are pretty good walks with a dog too.
At this time 6am-8pm, will change with sunrise and sunset
Not at Botany, but Edisto state park has cabins and a place for campers within a few miles of botany.
They have it on the DNR website: https://www2.dnr.sc.gov/ManagedLands/ManagedLand/ManagedLand/57
The Area is closed to visitors tommorow for their safety. There is a special deer hunt in progress.
Free. Be sure to go near low tide and check website that they are not closed for special hunts. Amazing photography locstion!
That is something you can find on the SC DNR website
I don't think so but I think that there should be. I have a problem walking very far I have congestive heart failure and I don't get around easy anymore either
I'm sorry, I don't know.
No public bathrooms. I would like to mention that the best time to go is at low tide to get the full experience :)
Yes, there is a beach if you follow the signs once you enter the SCDNR area
Thanks so many places are closing. Seems like great peaceful area to visit.
Yes, they are only closed for scheduled hunts on Tuesdays. Open sunrise to sunset
This isnt a public park like Kiawah or Edisto park, this is a Wildlife Management Area. It is staffed by volunteers. I remember when this was privately owned and the more public that uses it, the more trashed it becomes.
Whatever is in season, now white tail 🦌 deer
No, the beach access is on a long boardwalk that is walking only.
You can but have to stay on the designated roads. All are dirt and not the best.
Not 100% sure but I think fishing is allowed only on the weekends.
Yes. There is a driving tour that you can take when you check in at the volunteer station
Yep, Ray has it right. Also, not a bad idea ti check their schedule to be surr there isn't a deer hunt day, etc
No but you can swim. There is a fine for taking shells from the beach.
Yes, there is a natural boat landing
