Like many people in the pandemic, I found Greenbrook while trying to be closer to nature. It is a hidden gem nestled away along the Palisades. It is a membership only Park as the focus is primarily on conversation of the land through funds. It has a number of well maintained hiking trails and ample parking is available inside the park. Members are mailed a key that goes with the lock on the gate. A membership form can be found on the gate or at the Palisades interstate parkway website. The park naturalists' conduct many hiking and observatory events year round. Greenbrook has a special place in my heart and has some beautiful views and vistas along it's trails. It's a very exclusive park for those who want to return and be involved at a deeper level.

I called to ask about their hours and they mentioned you have to pay for a membership to hike there and you cannot even go inside to take a look and see if you want to invest in getting a membership haha And if they are offering a visitor hike they only offer that two times a year and they haven’t done that in 2 years. When I called they answered the phone like it was their personal phone and it sounded like I called the wrong number, I had to ask if I was calling the right place. Even if you were to get a membership you Cannot park on the property, sounds pretty ridiculous, locals say it’s dangerous to park outside the Sanctuary. If your down for that good luck, I’m here to just give a real review.

A beautiful, secluded piece of nature almost in my back yard. Love the diversity of habitats and wildlife. There is always something to see at Greenbrook Sanctuary. The naturalists are very knowledgeable and helpful and the place is maintained very well.

Wonderfull quiet natural area high above the Hudson River. Convenient to a large urban population.

Yes you must wait for your key. Thank you.
Hello Roberto, Greenbrook Sanctuary is 165 acre preserve that was set aside from rest of the Palisades Park system to foster conservation of the flora and fauna within. This requires personnel to maintain the trails. Maintenance of the surrounding fence and additional projects also requires funds. Upon it's inception it was determined the Palisades Nature Association, a non-profit organization would manage the sanctuary. Board members are volunteers. Dues and donations are used to keep the organization solvent so the answer is yes, membership is required to access the sanctuary. We typically have an open house in the Spring and Fall but unfortunately the pandemic has forced postponement of these days. Kind regards, Mike Gallo Board Member, Membership Chair
Bicycle riding is not permitted on the trails. Please take a moment to review sanctuary privileges and guidelines located below the membership grids via this link http://www.njpalisades.org/greenbrookMembership.html
Less than $50 per year for a family. GREAT PLACE! GREAT DEAL!
No nature sanctuary allows pets in order to preserve the natural environment.
