Spent a Saturday here with family. The ski resort is great, the lifts and slopes are in good condition and the place is fun. I’ve heard that week days are no-wait at the lifts and smaller crowds obviously. We were there on a Saturday and it was beyond capacity. Simply too many people and I would give 5-star if Beech could figure out a system to limit total capacity. That would be better for everyone all around

Today will be my 50th day at Beech this season. This has allowed me to really leave an honest review. This resort is great for what it is. Sure, it has its shortcomings, but that's every resort. Of the resorts in this area, the cafeteria is the cheapest price wise (and some of the tastiest). The Taproom and Grill has great food. The house-made beers are delicious. Night riding is always an absolute blast and definitely worth checking out! More often than not, staff members are friendly and willing to help. Information could probably be updated in a more timely manner, but I know they're doing what they can. This is my favorite resort in North Carolina and definitely worth checking out at least once! If you need to rent gear, park in Lot 1, as it'll save you a bit of a walk. Photo was taken on the rock off of White Lightning!

3 out of 5 stars because it’s mediocre. If you want a 5 star ski resort experience prepared to pay a lot more than $75 for a ski lift Deer Valley/Park City). There were things I really enjoyed about Beech Mountain and some things I didn’t. To rent skis and boots is $36 and the weekend price for a lift ticket was $75. My family took lessons and you have to get there early to sign up for lessons (be there no later than 8am if you want to get lessons by 9am of busy season - we went in February). They ran out of helmets, that was frustrating. After getting my gear (I’m a novice skier who does blue runs) I couldn’t slide at all, my skis needed waxed and I had to walk myself down the mountain with the skis and exchange them (my wife had to do the same thing and this was a bad start of the day). They have beautiful fire pits throughout the village/lodge area and NOT ONE was lit (it just snowed and it was perfect weather for these). That combined with over a 60 minute wait to get on a lift, it had me second guessing if I’d want to come back. We’ve been to busy mountains and usually they have ropes up and park workers present to make sure no one is skipping, this was not the case here and no one scanned our tickets. I’d recommend not getting a multi day pass if no one is scanning your pass (who would know?). Perhaps they’re under staffed due to Covid or whatever else? Anyways, it’s a fun mountain but if going to NC to learn, I’d recommend Sugar and then Beech (both are within 25-30 mins of one another so ski or board both!) The park with jumps was one of the best I have seen so if you’re into that you’d like it here.

Love beech but this year has truly been a mess. Overcrowding and selling a crazy amount of tickets each day makes for a horrible experience. They really need to stop selling tickets when they reach a certain capacity. No one has been working the lift lines which means a jumbled mess with solos and duos riding by themselves on quad lifts. Beginners are strung out all over the slopes, sitting and hanging out in the middle of runs. I’m aware there will always be people of varying skill levels, but perhaps ski patrol could try stating the importance of staying out of others way when they ride down. Surprised no one has been seriously injured yet. Over an hour standing in line to get chicken tenders and fries... It’s become more of a headache and less fun spending time on the slopes. Had a bad experience with management at Sugar at the start of the season and vowed to only return to Beech. But I can’t justify driving 3 hours for a $75 ticket to stand in a line all day. Will give Sugar another shot. Also tried out Wintergreen in VA last weekend and they had a much better system for handling crowds and lift lines, I would recommend giving them a try if you haven’t already.

Our weekend rates begin on Friday at 5pm.
Our projected opening day for the 2021-2022 winter season is November 20th.
You can purchase season passes on our website. You pickup passes in person and will need to show a valid ID.
That is not a dumb question! We have had real snow and we have been making snow. Snowmaking is the production of snow by forcing water and pressurized air through a snow gun. Essentially it’s the same product as real snow, however it made with a machine. I think you will be have a combination of both real snow and man made snow.
I think they have a ladies night where it's heavily discounted for women to ski
On weekdays, we are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. During weekends and holiday period, we are open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. We operate on holiday hours during the week of Christmas except for Christmas Eve and Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we close at 5:00 p.m. and on Christmas we will open at 1:00 p.m.
Probably and their rates at that time would be 25% off. It really all depends on the weather in Feb that dictates March.
Averagely nightly temperatures are nowhere near freezing this time of year in North Carolina's mountains - their snow blowers will not be operational until late fall/early winter, typically late November or early December the past few seasons.
Resort opens 9am snow report on website will state what slopes open that day
If you have room in your vehicle, I would recommend renting in town.....the lines are way long to get fitted for skis.
Group or private lessons, a very gradual (and short) bunny run, and twin bunny slope lifts (about a 400m gentle run). Greens are pretty good all around. Friendly staff and visitors too boot.
I do not know? Was it because they look antique?

Yep you need to buy way ahead of time online and prepare to wait in lines for rentals.
We offer $5 off weekdays, nonholiday, day passes with a valid college ID
Ice skating, snow tubing and Snow skiing. You have to book days in advance. They have been selling out quickly and are totally packed. Check their website or fb page.
We do not offer scenic lift rides in the winter season. We do not offer onsite lodging but the town of Beech Mountain has many options for your stay.
Happy anniversary. You can purchase slope passes online or onsite, whichever you would prefer. We look forward to seeing you.
I saw guests with dogs there yesterday, but didn't inquire about service animal or just a family member
Good morning. There is no admission fee to visit the resort. All activities are a la carte.
Thank you for your inquiry. We allow pets outside of all buildings as long as they remain on a leash.
There are many non-biking activities including: disc golf, scenic lift rides, 5506' skybar, Beech Mountain Brewing Co., hiking, waterfalls, and canoeing. There are several businesses around town that host events.
Our last visit it was pouring rain in Boon but snowing on the mountain. The elevation makes magic.
Our opening day was 11/23/2019 and our closing day is set as 3/21/2020.
While there is no age restriction for tubing, you must be 42 inches or taller to participate in tubing.
Prices vary based on day, youth, weekday or weekend but according to https://www.beechmountainresort.com/tickets-passes/winter-slope-tickets/ a weekday adult pass is $42 and weekend is $70.
Yes someone would be there to teach them. Get with the resort and they will assign an instructor for you.
Hi Kara? Childcare is available in the winter season only at this time.
Hi Zachary, we do not require full faced helmets for mountain biking. Although, we do highly recommend it.
No
no
In the southeast it varies a lot. While you *might* get lucky with some cold weather for machine-made or natural snow in December, a safer bet it's to look around MLK weekend into February. However, you really need to check slope conditions and the weather.
I'm pretty sure Beech Mountain proper doesn't have any RV facilities. I think Grandfather Mountain had some though.
Good morning. Our shuttles are not running for the remainder of the season.
I rented there and they did not, weekdays I would rent there but weekends go the night before to a rental place. Prices are the same and you can skip the lines
Most vacation places don't adjust for (generally) Federal holidays but the best option is to call them to be sure. Of more concern might be the recent weather.
Weather getting a little warmer this week you can rent most stuff you need
Good morning. Thank you for your inquiry. We are hopeful to open back up as conditions improve. Please feel free to reach out again or check our daily slope report on our website.
Hi Rodney, Tubing at Beech Mountain Resort is closed at the moment due to unseasonably warm conditions. Tubing will reopen when conditions allow snowmaking to resume. At this time we are not able to predict the exact day tubing will reopen but you can refer to our daily Slope Conditions Report which also includes information on tubing operations. https://www.beechmountainresort.com/mountain/winter-trail-map/ Thank you!
Thank you for your inquiry. We have 7 trails open today. You can find our slope report daily on our website. www.beechmountainresort.com We will resume snowmaking as conditions allow.
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not offer lodging here on site. You can find many hotels and property management companies listed on our website www.beechmountainresort.com under plan your trip, or feel free to give us a call 1-800-438-2093. We are happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding the resort.
Elizabeth, Friday and Saturday are considered weekend pricing. Monday through Friday is weekday pricing. The day of the week and the session time will dictate the cost. Children ages 4 and under receive a free slope ticket, however your other children are eligible for junior pricing. We have different session times. The most common session is the day session. https://www.beechmountainresort.com/tickets-passes/winter-slope-tickets/ In addition to your slope ticket, you will also need an equipment rental: https://www.beechmountainresort.com/lessons-and-rentals/equipment-rentals/ You can purchase all of this in person the morning of your first ski day, or the evening prior. Please let us know if you need additional assistance.
Good morning. We opened for the season last Friday! We hope to see you out here soon! best regards, Lesley
We will be open from 1pm til 9pm Christmas day thank you for your inquiry Lesley
Historically mid-December through mid-March is great. Last year February was mild, but historically it is a great month. January is always a strong month as well.
I love the app Home Away , put in cabin near Beech Mountain. Very reasonable you can message them if your not sure if your close to the Ski Resort. I'm returning again for 2nd time love it !
There is cell service with Verizon. AT&T works well here. Thank you.
No, roads are just fine, just steep and have tight corners
I'm sure they'll be open....limited but open.
Yes
You can go through the resort website and find rooms, condos and houses. Anywhere from $100 and up.
