How much more energy does it consume to make artificial snow in the summer? Is it worth using increasingly more fossil based energy with more extreme climates?

Averagely nightly temperatures are nowhere near freezing this time of year in North Carolina's mountains - their snow blowers will not be operational until late fall/early winter, typically late November or early December the past few seasons.

We don't make snow in the summer. It has to be cold enough to naturally snow in order for us to be able to make man made snow
