so we decided to hike up to Fred’s for breakfast. It was about 30 min hike from where we are staying. Let me say The food was awesome! And the people were so kind and welcoming! I definitely recommend stopping by and getting some delicious food. Also make sure to visit the gift shop. 10/10 definitely recommend

Don’t waste your time going anywhere else but Fred’s. The staff is so nice and all they want to do is help you find something that will work and the store is just to cutest ever. After waiting an hour and a half at another rental shop, they did not have my size and didn’t care to try and help me find something that worked. We walked right into Fred’s 30 minutes before they closed and they found me boots and skis that had JUST been returned. They were so accommodating I just wanted to keep giving them my money. Bought a ski bib and some souvenirs! They also have everything from batteries to wine to candles. THANK YOU FREDS!

Looking for a southern breakfast biscuit? Come here! My husband and I loved our biscuits so much we came here twice while we were staying on Beech Mountain. Bacon, egg & cheese biscuit was obviously my favorite. We also tried the breakfast potatoes & grits and they were both delicious as well. Can’t go wrong here! And the general store itself was nice to walk around in too.

Super cute and really has groceries and hardware! Tough to find parking and if it’s foggy you better watch out. People don’t always watch out. The employees were nice. Someone in our party bought a long sleeved shirt for $25 which I thought was pricy but hey. They had a large selection of weather gear, nails by the pound, old time Candy, bird seed and houses, bacon and eggs, cheese, produce! What an awesome place. They also had sidewalk salt and shovels. The coolest thing is the pipe out front to Mark the feet of snow each year. That was awesome!
