Great for kids, our 3 year old needed some coercion into being an ‘explorer’ but could make the hike up and down with minimal hike - about 1 1/2 miles round trip. Great views and well worth the encouragement for him! Such stunning views.

Craggy indeed! This hike had the most beautiful twisty trees! The hike is magical, as ypu walk through tunnels of twisted trees. You end up on a plateau of fields with a ton of gorgeous views. Pick any trail and follow it to an outlook, then do all the others too! Each view is great. The landscape goes through quite a few changes, so your pictures don't even look like they are from the same hike!

Gorgeous family friendly hike! We took our 3 boys (13, 3, and 6 months) and they loved it! The hike isn’t very long and mildly steep. We carried the two little boys but the 3 year old probably could have walked most of it. There were some areas that might be hard to navigate if you have mobility issues (large rocks to step up) but most people should be able to. It was very cloudy/foggy while we were there so we couldn’t see anything but the beauty of the trail made it worth it. There were gorgeous flowers, trees, and rocks everywhere!

This 1.4-mile out-and-back hike is one of the best in North Carolina. There's a modest 252-foot elevation gain, but the payoff is well worth the effort. The panoramic views at the top are incredible, and the trail itself is quite scenic. The latter winds through rhododendron tunnels that are stunning in early summer.

Definitely, lots of spots you can get off the trail to the side and find a small view. The lower Pinnacle is also usually less busy and a good spot for a picnic

I didn't see any signs of bears. They are probably there but there were a bunch of people hiking the bears would be scared
