Summer visit. Spent 3 days there for the 4848 Festival. Nice accommodations at Expedition Station close to everything. Two main stages plus the boathouse area stage featuring live music. Over 18+ acts performing different genres of live music high on the mountain. Vendors, crafts, food, beer, children's activities, swimming, kayaks, mountain biking, lift rides, shopping, something for everyone.

Snowshoe was a fantastic place to take my kids for their first ski vacay. We drove up from Orlando for spring break, which was a complete mission, but so worth the 14 hour drive! Spring conditions are unpredictable at any resort in the world, but the slopes were well groomed and set for great morning of skiing. The afternoons were a little soft, but still enjoyable. The ski school staff were amazing, the lift attendants were always helpful and giving my sons loads of encouragement! The village has plenty to offer and it’s affordable for a single mom to take her kids to ski! The restaurants are not overpriced so it’s brilliant to be able to eat out at lunch and dinner, as well as enjoy apres drinks without worrying about the cost. I do agree that staff in certain parts of the resorts could have been friendlier, but I never found anyone outright rude, just a little fed up and short (end of the season attitude). The only complaint was that the wifi was so unpredictable and slow that I couldn’t get any work done like I needed to 😬 I can’t wait to return earlier in the season next year and experience the mountain in peak condition!

Two major complaints! We’re here now on our second sellout day in a row. Everything is incredible with two exceptions. First and foremost, their lift infrastructure is severely lacking. At 1200 vertical feet, the runs are pretty nice and long compared to other mountains in the area, but when you get to the bottom, be prepared to wait 20 minutes or more in line before you get on their slow, non-high speed static lifts. We waited in line for 40 minutes once to get on the Ballhooter lift, which is the only one that takes you back up to the village. Second issue is there is tons of housing at the top of the village, but there are not nearly enough restaurants in the area. During peak lunch and dinner times, expect a 2+ hour wait. This is an incredible place if you own your own helicopter and pack your own lunch. (jk) Seriously, if they fixed those two issues, this place really could be an incredible ski resort.

Highly recommend! We visit the ‘Shoe almost every month in the winter time! It’s one of our most visited places and the mini getaway we always look forward to! LOVE IT HERE!

How much is it? Price range?
As of labor day and following the U.C.I world cup, the resort will only be open Friday through Sunday for the rest of the season
On a normal year yes. I am unsure what change the virus could have, if any.
Yes James, there is one on the mountain called "Wildcat Provisions." That said, they have a small selection and their prices are high (though not terrible), so it is recommended to bring your own groceries if you can.
So far it is only snowing once or twice a week, the 24 hrs sky tracks are snowing artificially
They are pretty cool.. about a quarter mile. About 8 lanes. Just a heads up- 2hour sessions. It was a perfect amount of time😆👍
Its listed right above this "questions" form. You can also click the phone icon at the top of this page
Yes sir. Its awesome. You wont need to or want to leave for anything.
Yes, I saw some chargers in the front across from the village.
Sorry, don't know, perhaps you can Google?
Masks even when skiing and when in stores 3-6ft they should have signs
There's no ice skateing.
If you go up the winding way from the snowshoe inn you'll be fine. The roads are maintained and traveled regularly so its no big. You can also try to go up the backside with any kind of vehicle at about 5 mph. I recommend taking the main route, also you're going to want to grab some delicious food from the shop at the bottom anyway. Enjoy your trip.
Yes it's $60 per person before taxes
I am not sure but you call to find out. I did some checking Spilt Rock is open.
Mountain bikes down the mountain with chair lift back or you can go farther into the backcountry. They also have allterrain vehicle rentals, Segway rentals, outdoor pool with a jacuzzi, beach on a lake with kayak and canoe rentals, and hiking. I would recommend the hike up to the fire tower to get a great view of the valley over as well as back to the resort.
I was there a couple weeks ago on a weekend. Everything was open.
Snowshoe is a "reverse" mountain in the sense that you drive to the top of the mountain, where the lodge is, ski down and ride the lift back up. There are 1-2 spots at the bottom of the slope that serve coffee, hot cocoa, light food, etc. They are decent vantage points. Not sure which slopes they are at the bottom of, but just look at the map. Hope this helps!
Not sure how close they are but some state parks are still open for camping in winter per this site: https://wvstateparks.com/winter-camping/ Beech Fork, Camp Creek, Canaan Valley, Pipestem and Twin Falls state parks, and Cabwaylingo State Forest
Yes they are currently hiring in several dept my brother works up there
Ski barn is definitely cheaper. Expect to spend around $50 to rent boots.
Yes. There is a visitor info center right in the center of everything and they will help you book.
Not sure about the BBQ Festival but the Rimfire lodge is great! Close to everything!
It varies per season, its best to call ahead.
Not familiar with Holiday Valley but Snowshoe is the best resort on the east coast I've been to
No one gets discounts. And if they owe you a discount they won't give it to you anyway
No ski bikes. They do have off roading/off trail vehicle rentals located at Top of the World, Soaring Eagle lift.
We just came back and we paid around $300 at the Mountain Lodge for a 2 bedroom condo. It had a very well equipped kitchen and had access to the slopes/lift right out of the lobby. We stayed for 5 nights and it we were very glad that we didn't have to eat out but a couple of times, as the food was expensive and not really good. If you plan to cook, know that the only grocery store up on the mountain is very limited. Come prepared.
https://www.snowshoemtn.com/things-to-do/dining/wildcat-provisions-and-deli There is a small grocery store near the village. It has a good selection of ski food. If you'd like more than carbs, milk and beer id call ahead and make sure they have it. Otherwise bring it with you.
House rentals with beautiful views on site. Of course the view depends on the clouds.
I would call them first.
There are times when this is available. Usually between Thanksgiving and Christmas snow permitting
Anywhere in Virginia... unless you can find some West Virginia moonshine
Yes, Hoots inside Top of the World. one inside Soaring Eagle. Another one inside Silver Creek. There are a few in the Village. And brand new summer 2019 a Brewery by the Ski Barn.
There's a clinic in the bottom of shavers center, the fire department ambulance squad is going towards Silver Creek, Silver Creek and Snowshoe both have a ski patrol paramedic building, and at the bottom of the mountain is a local doctor office.
Most condo units have washer and dryer.
You do not need a lift ticket, but it is a separate charge to go tubing.
The closest regional airport would probably be in Morgantown or Charleston. There are closer municipal airports but none that service commercial flights that I am aware of.
The cheapest place to Stay is located at the Inn at the bottom of the resort. Usually half the price. It is older and further away from the main resort.
You can get packages with ski lift passes, but it's a lot more expensive than booking lodging on an off-site and then purchasing ski passes separately. They don't offer any packages with ski lessons tho.
Generally, the whole resort is open for skiing/tubing (and many other things), but i'm pretty sure the Snowshoe Mtn website usually updates daily snowfall and man made snow levels.
The resort manages all of the privately owned condos for rent. Options are nearly infinite. Check the website. It has all the info.
They keep them clear as best they can..salty wash your car after
