We had an amazing time here! We went on a Sunday afternoon in July and it was quiet, so we had the chance to talk for a long while with one of the staff. They were so kind and answered our questions about their mead and the process of making it. The tasting flight was a great way to taste 6 of their current meads and get a sense of the difference flavor profiles. Definitely needs to be on your list of stops in Ipswich, MA!

Just an incredible delight. Staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and incredibly friendly. Just so generous with their time and information, to say nothing of the excellent mead! Well worth looking them up at your finer liquor stores, but absolutely worth the visit to sample their full catalogue and enjoy their charming company.

Have stopped at 1634 Meadery many times since me and a friend happened upon it a few years ago. Lack of physical space is all this place lacks. The tasting room is cozy, but too small for any meaningful social distancing, which is important in the new normal of COVID. Otherwise, the meadery produces exceptional mead, a few bottles of which I happily bought and drank with friends and family.

Amazing local mead made by friendly knowledgeable folks. I've stopped picking up mead when I travel because the best stuff in the whole world is made right down the road from me at 1634.

Hi there, I hope this finds you smiling. Is there a good, better, best way to serve Jason’s Blunder? I’m sure there is no wrong way Thanks, Glicky

All of our meads can be served at cellar or room temperature. However, we do have customers that prefer some of the meads chilled. In particular the fruit meads are enjoyable this way. So we recommend to all of our customers to try it both ways and see which they prefer!
