A very nice park with amazing views, many hiking trails around the lake, picnic areas for day use, in addition to a marina for booting activities in the lake. Unfortunately swimming in the lake is not allowed currently due to algae in the water. But anyway it is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the day.

Lots of amazing views. The park was pretty busy when we arrived. Theres a miniature train that tours around the park and the kids love it so its a great spot for a family hang out and picnics. If you’re going for a walk definitely take an outdoor mat with you, you wont regret it

Attended Fantasy of Lights WALK THRU. What a great event for all ages. They were very organized. There are plenty of bathrooms, about 15 food trucks, many many outdoor heaters and lots of picnic tables for eating said food. It's 1.5 miles to walk the route. A DJ at the end playing holiday dance tunes. What a great tradition!

Yes, you can see a ton of people fishing both from the park and from areas around the lake
The Christmas Lights are from 7pm to 10pm. Dates Have To Be On The Internet. Google Vasona Park Christmas Lights Show.
Most of the lake is not for fishing as i remember it

6 dollars give you a piece of paper and you put it on your window
There is a ticket vending machine located near the park entrance, when entering from Blossom Hill Road. You can pay your $ 6 vehicle entrance fee here. If you drive too far, you will have to go back to buy a ticket.
Eventbrite has tickets for two category of vehicles. Approx 22$ for vehicle capacity of 12. Need to book tickets in advance. Be at the venue 30min before since the queue can be long.
Yes....go
You can but holiday event tickets on Eventbrite.com
All their schedule on their website. Please call them for more info.
Yes, you can just let the gater know since you already paid for when you came in.
The park is open year-round from 8:00 a.m. until sunset. Vehicle entrance and lake use fees are collected year round.
If the parking is full no more valid even if you paid as displayed at the park. You can park outside n walk though.
Not shure but i saw the sighn only permite call and ask to make sure
It's in California!! Los Gatos
Yes. But this year they only allow drive through to watch the display. You can not get out of the car.
I just went there last weekend, and the trees are still mostly green.
American River, Parkside Aquatic, Oyster Point Beach, Russian River
No swimming in the lake but I see children wading through the creeks around the lake
not yet
Yes it's open for trails and general seating. Signs posted that no picnicing but not being enforced
The park costs nothing ... to park there yes
They let you know at the entrance. It's an AM station streaming Christmas carols
Instead of walk do a drive through if it rains
U can run all u want. If u wanna do something organized i would imagine you need a permit
Depends a lot on time of day you're wanting to go, but if it's late morning to afternoon, I would say it would be a good idea to reserve a spot.
Yes
I am not sure, maybe you have to make a reservation. I recommend Ed R Levin Park in Milpitas, it is not crowded at all and you have a good view for fireworks.
No the trail on a scale of 1- 10 would be a 1. Los Gatos creek trail in general is very easy to ride great for beginners.
Snack shack summer hours open from 11am - 4pm. BBQ opens 11 - 2 on weekdays: 11-3 on Saturday and Sunday.
There's an online map that you can find from their website. on it you can see where the restrooms are in relationship to the picnic areas. This will help you to choose a picnic area closest to restrooms.
They could but you'll probably get in trouble if they catch you
Yes fishing is allowed at the lake
Expensive ....
Entrance fees 6$
You are not supposed to park, but instead just drive slowly through the park.
There are a LOT of lights. You can see lights start going up around the patk in September
Hi Hai, That's a great question. The short answer is yes. Here's what the website says and a link: Alcohol: Permitted in picnic areas. Not permitted in parking lots. https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/AboutUs/Pages/County-Park-Rules-Ordinances.aspx
I think the barbecue is first come first serve, but you should check with a park to make sure.
Vasona was the name of the horse that a local railroad engineer loved. He named a junction for the railroad after that horse. Since the naming of the Vasona Junction, Vasona has been used many times for various locations in the South Bay.
You need a California state fishing license to fish in the lake or anywhere else, pretty much
Yes its allowed to bring your own BBQ and charcoal.
Bar b q area has tables for large parties. I've seen reservations signs on tables . Best to check with park employees
There's no rule posted against it in the county park system, so I don't see why not.
Construction is almost done. They are finishing up irrigation work and lawn reconstruction. The park is scheduled to be fully up and running by June 1st.
No. The Park Rules and Regulations for the town of Los Gatos states "Not Allowed: radio controlled airplanes, helicopters, drones." A man on TripAdvisor said he was teaching his grandsons to fly a quad copter at the park and two park rangers approached him and said there's a city ordinance preventing the flying of anything remote-controlled. So while it seems like a good place to fly, you might end up having a problem. Special Use Permits are available for some activities. When in doubt, ask a ranger.
Not sure about stock rate, but you can most definitely catch a nice bass or carp. Seen one man pull a 3-footer out of there
Yes, open year round. 8 am to sunset. They do still have construction going on which has closed the los gatos creek trail and picnic and parking near the park entrance and trail under blossom hill road. This also effects access to some areas near the creek. This was sceduled to end sometime in april 2018, not sure if recent weather may have slowed this down. Detours exist.
Yes i believe you can as long as you don't exceed the daily limit and stay within fishing laws on the sizes of your catch.
Chequando vasona park online Vasona Lights
You can also buy the tickets online on their website
No, but during the day you can walk in from Los Gatos Creek and see the layouts and character frames without lights for free.
