You could try to find a local vet that will dabble with exotics, but it is often more beneficial to both you and your pet to see a veterinarian that knows all of the ins and outs about reptiles. I'm not sure about tortoises in particular but a standard check up for my snake, a small reptile, was about $82. Its always great to call and ask though just in case anything is different! Hope this helps.

Good vet. Went there 2hr drive for 2nd opinion. Price is a but higher then a normal vet but worth it for quality diagnosis if you have an animal in your care other then a cat or dog. Excellent medical professionals with good bedside manor if you are concerned about such things. I'm more focused on the diagnosis and knowledgeable doctors. The bedside manor is a bonus. Both are top of their class.

A 5% discount is applied starting with the 3rd animal being brought in together. I have only brought in my pet rats, but I believe the cost per appointment for them was $80. Guinea pigs might be a bit more.

Seeing as a lot of birds (especially medium to large) are uncomfortable around anyone but their person, I'm pretty sure they see unfriendly birds. The staff are very knowledgeable
