Stunning hike. If you go to the upper lake be sure to stay to the right of the lower lake Ptarmigan. Worth going the extra distance. Several Alpine lakes to experience during the hike.

This was an amazing hike. I won't lie though, it was hard because of the elevation gain. We started at 10,000 feet and the lake was at 12, 132. The last bit was very slow so we could breathe. BUT there are lake along the way and just amazing views!!

Great trail with spectacular views at the end of Ptarmigan lake. We were able to see some ptarmigans along the way. A large part of this trail was through trees.
