Mike and his support staff (shout out to Jennifer) are above and beyond the people you want to handle any issue you're having in Florida. They helped me sort out a complicated process in wrapping up everything after my Grandfather died. I honestly couldn't have done it without them and if you're in a similar spot to where I was -- these people will help you through those scary waters. These are definitely the people you want to do business with.

Hi Mike, Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your preparedness, professionalism and fine execution today! I have worked with many attorneys in my business career and you are, without a doubt, in the 1%. It was also really nice to witness the sincere staff enthusiasm expressed, enjoying your victory; obviously you have earned their respect and admiration….nice. Kim R.

My brothers and I retained Mike Hagen for our probate/estate matters when our father passed away earlier this year, and Mike and his staff (including Mary) could not have been more professional, compassionate and helpful. Mike got us through this stressful process and charged very fairly at the end of it. He was there for us if we wanted to talk to him on the telephone, and responded quickly if we ever needed to clear something up. I cannot recommend Mike enough. He is a great lawyer and a kind person.

Questions & Answers

My mother passed in 2018 and I just received a property tax assessment from Michelle Franklin Certified Fl. Appraiser for Port Saint Lucie that went from $97,842 to 198,800 property taxes in one year even though the property is still in her trust.

Mr. Ford, Thank you for your inquiry. My hypothesis is that 2018 was the last year that the property enjoyed a homestead exemption. In 2019 the exemption came off and that resulted in a large value increase. I urge you to contact the Property Appraiser's office and confirm this situation. Sincerely, Michael S. Yes we do represent sellers and buyers of businesses. It is important to have attorney representation in these transactions.
