Sadly, last year one of my cats lost his battle with cancer. I was sure I wouldn't be able to handle another cat anytime soon. However, life doesn't always turn out the way you wish and my other cat, whom has never been alone, was also grieving. I personally know one of the girls that works at this shelter, she takes the time to get to know each and every cat and she loves every one of them. She tells stories about them all the time. I told her that I may have to adopt another cat sooner rather than later, regardless of my own grief I couldn't allow my other cat to spend his days wondering around looking for his friend. I was approved to adopt, and I went to meet the cats at the shelter. They told me all about the cats there and which ones would fit best for my home. After meeting a few of them I absolutely fell in love with one of them. After finishing the paperwork and a very informative rundown on acclimating our new furry family member to our household I was allowed to take him home. It was a great, and emotional, experience and I am so grateful for the work they do here and my new family member that helped heal both my surviving cat and mines grief.

I have adopted several animals from the shelter and have had amazing experiences. Caroline and the rest of the crew is so great with all the animals as well as the humans they interact with daily. Their interactions are always pleasant, even when they are clearly very busy with lots of other things. We are so appreciative of them always being prompt in emergency situations as well. We will always go and adopt from our local shelter and you should too!!!

In all my years being a foster and parent to fur babies, I have never been so mistreated and disrespected. The staff at this establishment is horrendous. They talk with such attitude and a horrible tone. I should have known it was only going to be worst when we came to visit some animals. But I did not listen to my gut. We went and visited, trying to overlook the fact that cats were pilled on top of each other in bird cages. But that was not the worst. The attitude and tone of the shelter staff was even worse then on the phone. While playing with a few cats, you could see the staff was bored and wanting us to just pick a cat and leave. But you must allow yourself time to familiarize yourself with a cat and the cat with you. You can not simply just point and take home a cat. When after only 20 mins you could see the staff woman upset and begin to tap her foot waiting. We decided as much as these animals need a good home, we couldn't in good conscience take one. They would not have been a good fit for us or the cat. Above all I do not believe many of those cats have been treated properly while at the shelter. We took some pictures and will be sadly filing a complaint with the city. Good luck to the animals stuck there. You are in our prayers.
