This is a very unique establishment in the way they handle payments. You pay before you see or taste your food (leaving no leverage for incorrect or nonsatisfying food). Everything was fresh I purchased the ribs, fries, and "red kool-aid ". My food was edible, nothing to write home about but, I will be willing to return to dine again. Customer service was okay and very different as well. They call your ticket number, you pick up your food, refills or napkins, eating utensils you have to get up to ask for it with a wait time bc they are extremely busy(which didn't make for a relaxing meal). It was as cool as walking in the desert at noon in the restaurant. The staff was cordial and Uptown Comedy Corner is upstairs. Another plus is ample parking and operating hours as this was a last-minute decision bc they were open past 3pm.

fantastic food. grilled pork chops were great and the sides of grown beans and yellow rice complimented them perfectly. my wife had ribs that had a perfect combo of sweet n tangy. sides of coleslaw and baked beans hot the spot. can't wait to come back and try more!

We were close to the Atlanta airport area and looking for a place to eat. I did a quick search and found Lickety Split.  I was enticed by the pictures of the Chicken and Waffles (which I found out is not on the lunch menu).  We quickly found the place and discovered there was plenty of free parking behind the restaurant.  When we entered, we were told to take a menu off the wall, place our order and then our number would be called.  So the place is fast food-ish kind of masquerading as a dine in restaurant.  We ordered our food at the bar and all I can say about the hostess/bartender was that she was stoic/emotionless, not one smile to make us feel welcome. After we placed our order, we were told it would be ready in about 20 minutes.  At this point, we looked around to seat ourselves.  Usually we would sit outside, but there was a homeless man sitting on the outside bench.  The staff clearly saw him, but was acting like he wasn’t there.  We decided to sit inside at one of the high tables for two.   The place was busy and food was consistently being called for pickup.    We waited, while listening to the great RnB music in the background,  a little longer than 20 minutes, but it was doable.  I ordered the Fried Chicken with yellow rice and cabbage.  Wifey ordered Grilled Shrimp and Potato Salad. The food was excellent!! Grandma is definitely in the kitchen.  Overall the good outweighs the bad in this Black Owned business.  I would recommend you check it out.

Our Judo team happened to come across this little gem near East Point Georgia. OMG. Not being accustomed to southern food and only trying southern food a few times, this place made my mouth drop. First, the prices are great for what you get. The food....insane!!! We had the brisket(amazing) hoecakes????- um they were crispy on the edges and just the right amount of sweetness, deviled eggs were amazing, fried green tomatoes were the best in the area with the corn meal batter! The peach cobbler was warm and to die for. The strawberry banana pudding was fought for at the table, the shrimp were LARGE and had a great taste to them. We met the owner, Kevin and he was very kind. He and his family were working their fingers to the bone providing this food. This food ISNT HEALTHY but it is amazing and truly comfort food. This family owned restaurant needs to stay open S this was the best place we had eaten at in the 3 days we were in the area! You can't go wrong with this place! The photos I took I had to pull away from people just so I could post an idea of what the food looks like.

There's a free parking lot behind the restaurant. They are marked according to use. Next to that, (off to the side) is a paid lot as well. I haven't experienced any issues finding a spot. *Edited to add that the restaurant has a back entrance as well. No need to walk around front!
