Unfortunately I had an interview last Wednesday and was told to call Ramon by the end of the day yesterday on Tuesday the 7th didn't hear from him. Left message never got a call back. I feel that is very rude and why would you call back a family interested in this facility if you really don't want part-time help. I feel I said I had fibromyalgia and that's why I had to give up my nursing career in 2010. I'm very upset about this issue and I'm sure it will never be addressed.

Heartbroken to share new ownership unfortunately uninformed on resident care, misguided business practices. Loved this place, hopefully they can change direction for the better.

From the moment you walk in to every part as you walk back to your loved one's room, everything and everyone is set-up to be inviting. My Dad was in the memory care portion and he improved so much while he was there. He was loved and cared for and most of all respected. He wanted to be involved in the activities and never wanted to be late for meals. They helped us do window visits and we came every day. Stephanie, the memory care director, is there for not only your loved one, but for you as well. We could text or call her anytime. It was so comforting to walk away from a visit and know Dad was taken care of as well as you would. All the staff became a part of our family.

The Woodlands at Hillcrest was a great place to start my first job as a server over two and a half years ago. From the start, I was greeted with enthusiasm and treated as an equal. The staff answered any question I had and helped me acclimate with the position. The food is delicious and cooked with love, but the best thing about The Woodlands at Hillcrest is the residents. They treated me like family and were genuinely happy to see me every time I walked through the front door. The Woodlands community is inviting, encouraging, loving, and most importantly, clean! I changed positions to concierge almost a year ago, and loved the job from the start. I was able to assist residents and families in a direct manner and made a difference in at least one person's life every day. Along with this position came an understanding of flaws within the system. As the Woodlands community continues to grow, the amount of staff on duty remains the same, causing staff to be overworked and, occasionally, residents to wait upwards of an hour for care staff. Two-way communication between concierge and care staff (which is vital to fulfilling resident and familial requests) can be non-existent, particularly on the weekends and with the memory care unit. With care staff not answering their phones or responding via our messaging system, the concierge must either fulfill the request themselves (causing them to neglect the front desk and main entrance area) or relay to the family member on the phone that, i.e. no, you cannot talk to your parent whom you have not talked to in weeks even though the family member has called multiple times over three weeks. Be prepared to wait for days if making a request or asking a question during the weekend as there is rarely a manager or nurse on duty. Most of the management team is honest, helpful, and concerned about creating the best experience for staff, residents, and family. Unfortunately, a few members of the management team are more concerned with gossip and their pride than accepting their mistakes and respecting other staff members. When applying to the Woodlands (especially as a concierge), be prepared to do tasks completely outside your job description. Overall, the Woodlands at Hillcrest is a great community and environment for your assisted living needs. I would recommend looking elsewhere if your needs include a multiple person transfer or regular communication with a loved one in the memory care unit. I would recommend applying to the Woodlands if you have a genuine love for helping others and are not bothered by being overworked, underpayed, and/or underappreciated.
