To be completely honest and transparent, I had my frustrations at first too. But then I had to check myself and understand, there are probably a 1000 other people in the county with similar circumstances as me and seeking assistance. I doubt there is enough manpower in the office to serve us all as quickly as they would like to do. I appreciate their patience they had with me, because sometimes my persistence when I am in "panic mode" can be overbearing, and I start thinking about just me, me , me. Too often we like to leave reviews when we are upset(I'm guilty too) when a review should be left to recognize the good too. Stephanie and C.J. are exactly what the Brevard County Community needs. I have pretty good discernment with people and I can feel they aren't there just because it is a job to go to, you can feel they genuinely care and want to help.

I am just completely appalled and disgusted with the encounter I just had with this agency. I was told to reach out to them for help assisting with my father's cremation due to me being low income and my father being homeless with no income at the time and passing away very unexpectedly. I was told to bring my father's ID and social security card with me and drove almost an hour away to my appointment. Then at my appointment I am informed I would have to provide birth certificates and social security numbers for me and my children. So I go home I send all of our social security numbers and birth certificates over. They say that the number is not good enough they need the actual card. I sent mine which is all they should need but they say they need my children's cards that I don't have. I explained that I can bring my taxes in with their social security on there or their shot records or school records because if I order new cards it can take weeks. In other words she said my dad can sit in the morgue for 3 to 4 weeks while waiting for these cards for my kids. She said it was my fault because I should have already had them on hand. They are my kids not my dad's. they shouldn't even be involved because they were not his kids. I've never had a problem with any of the Florida systems just giving them the social number. Absolutely no empathy and honestly seemed pleased. And to me you should not be working in that career if you lack empathy. I will be reaching out to the county commissioners and the governor's office. My dad lived here and served the community for 35 years and deserved better then to be told to just leave him in the morgue while we wait for social security cards in the mail.

Called this morning to find out the status of my LIHEAP application after leaving a message a few days ago. Since its Friday I wanted to know the status of my application before the weeks end. Receptionist said no one would be able to help me and they won't be back until next Wednesday. Before I had the chance to ask anything else the line was disconnected. I called back only to get no answer. After reading all the Google reviews, I now realize she hung up on me. Rude and unappreciated. I need help with my electric bill and don't have time to play games with people like this. Reported her to the Brevard County Human Resources manager.
