Opening the beautiful doors to the palatial clubhouse of Element Barclay you are greeted by smiling faces. Kyle showed us around and we were impressed to say the least. We had looked at various apartments in Wilmington for the past year because we wanted to make the best choice possible. What set Element Barclay apart from the rest was the cleanliness of the apartment for rent, the impeccable surroundings and the warmth that you receive from everyone in the office. Kyle, Grayson, Amanda and Sarah are exceptional simply by being friendly and making sure that everything is top notch. These are the best apartments in Wilmington! Update: Having lived here for 6 months now, I really must say how much my Mom and I enjoy living here. The neighbors are friendly and say hello. Sarah the manager is so nice along with the entire office staff. Always friendly and helpful! The maintenance guys are top notch and whenever anything is a concern, it is rectified immediately. The apartments are beautiful and I love my walk-in closet and my little dog, Jack enjoys his walks around the beautifully landscaped grounds. Element Barclay Apartments are quite exceptional.🤗

The complex itself is nice. I enjoy the amenities and the staff are kind and responsive. I like the style of the apartments- laminate floors, nice countertops, good lighting and large tub + shower. I enjoy the large community gym and the connecting Barre room, as well as the walking trail surrounding the complex. The complex is also within walking distance of a movie theater and several restaurants, which is convenient (try Zocalo for excellent Mexican food!). However, for the amount of money we pay for a "luxury" apartment, I would expect better soundproofing and overall quality of the apartments. It is obvious that the construction was done cheaply. I am on the bottom floor and can hear every step my upstairs neighbor takes. I can even hear things like coughing or her phone conversations if there is no background noise in my apartment (and it is not because she is being loud). I have lived in other luxury apartments (that were actually less pricey) and did not have this issue. I'm not sure there is much that can be done at this point, but I'd strongly recommend that the building quality be improved on the rest of the apartments that are still under construction. We also have a rather big ant issue. I am a neat freak and fully clean my apartment often, including the floors. Even just after cleaning, the ants still come. They come from the walls and cracks in the edges of the floor that connect to the outer building. When I told the complex, they sent pest control but it did not help. I bought ant baits but they did not help long term. Again, this is a construction quality issue it seems. The building is not sealed properly. The staff that work here are great but there is only so much they can do with such poor quality building. I can't justify the price we pay for such this kind of quality. It seems to me they were going for first appearances to sell the property vs overall quality. Fortunately I was only here for a short term lease (3ish months) so I didn't have to deal with anything for too long. Don't let the nice counters and pretty buildings fool you. Element Barclay either needs to lower rent or somehow improve the building quality. The price is unacceptable for the quality in my opinion.
