Where to start...well.. a year and a half ago when I posted my first review - I rated this place 5 stars. I moved in October 2020 when the place was run and owned by Woodlands Landing - Greystar. This place was AMAZING to live at, I met some great people and the management was even better. However, when Hawthorne took over and it became Hawthorne at the Pointe , a ton of talk around the neighborhood started happening due to people having previous negative experiences with them. After living here for some time I immediately noticed that his place was not built correctly and the apartment I was in was in the middle which has a extra empty spot above the top bedroom - the entire time I was there I had problems with black mold. The toilets grew dark black or pink rings around it every week, the showers grew black gunk which you have to clean every to every other week, as well as the sinks. My bathroom ceiling and upstairs air vent started growing black mold (not once, not twice but on three different occasions). In short - this caused myself and my dog to get EXTREMELY sick. I had to go to countless doctors and specialists for myself and my dog which cost me a ton of money. I in turn informed Hawthorne about this situation. They said they would send it up to their managers, but they did absolutely NOTHING for me. I gave them time to work something out, but again - it was radio silence. I finally moved out but I will say - stay far away from this place. There are other nicer, newer and cleaner places to rent at in Wilmington.

It's so hard to get in touch with the staff. I call all day, leave messages, and still do not hear from them. It's so inconvenient.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience here at Hawthorne at the Pointe. Sue in the leasing office is so helpful and pleasant and really listens to feedback from the residents, with fun activities for the residents like yoga, pool parties (and wine tastings :) ! The maintenance team is great, too, and super responsive and pleasant and fixed things right away. The community itself is beautiful too, with nice amenities and in a great location. Can’t be beat. Thank you!

We moved in a week ago. This is our second Hawthorne property. The quality of both have been nice but Hawthorne at the Pointe is by far more updated in every single way and the staff here is AMAZING! You will not meet a friendly, more welcoming face than Cody! I pray he never leaves while we are here. We are in a 3 bedroom 3.5 bath. We have 3 kids and it’s the perfect size!! Thank you so much for helping us make Hawthorne at the Pointe home!
