It's a ferry ride. What can I say?

Love the staff!! Julia the ticket agent was very helpful in correcting a mistake I had made on my ticket purchase, the guys who handle the luggage were very efficient and the boat crew made my dog feel quite at home.

Took ferry to Bald Head while on vacation. Keep in mind this is a working ferry, not a necessarily a tourist boat. Nothing fancy about it. Gets really busy during "rush" hours. Think of a city bus...but on water. Staff not very friendly, but I understand their job is to get people on and off and that's it.

Operations were smooth and fast!

Yes and mask. Be early only 75 person per trip
Bikes, golf bags, surf boards and that type thing are considered oversized and it's a $15 charge.
Day trips, not so much. If you are staying, definitely get a reservation, as you will probably use the tram to get your group and luggage to your place.
$30/day or $10/2hrs..$90/week
Plenty of help available but you need to have your driver drop you and luggage off as parking can be blocks away. Many wheel chairs so no problem
Yes, you can bring carry ons like chairs and umbrella bags. You also have option to bring larger items but they must be checked in like luggage when flying.
Liz and Jonathan are both right. You can take most anything on the island as long as you get everything tagged when you unload at the dock on the mainland.
Yes bald head island is open. The ferry across i believe is 17.00 each way and the price for parking is based on time. I was parked in contractor parking so i am unsure. I suggest bringing a cooler with water/drinks/snacks. I brought a backpack cooler which worked well for me. You can rent golf carts aswell. I do not remember the pricing. Hope that helps you! ✌
I would call and ask. Also it depends what it is. I have seen various tools that could be quite deadly. It's possible the answer is no, or that you may have to have it placed with the baggage during traveling and picked up when you dock again.
No, they're running for guests too
You do need to make reservations for the tram to take you and your luggage to your house.
What is the charge for a water taxi?
No just one fare 8 a person
Yes you can spend a day or stay longer. There is the light house with gift shop and church to visit which are across from the post office. You can rent a gulf cart as there are no cars for personal use on the island and tour the island. There is a golf course and beaches. And the shops and restaurants near the marina. There are also rentals on the island which you can stay in. You can also rent a kayak, go fishing or crabbing.
They sure are!
That would depend on the type of ticket you are purchasing. Generally speaking, tickets are going to run somewhere between 15 to $25 depending on, as mentioned, type and luggage. They do have rate information on their website. Baldheadislandferry.com
No, you have to park at terminal. Also make sure you arrange transportation when you arrive at the island. Ladies at ticket office will help you get everything figured out.
On the ferry but not inside the ferry.
Coast guard regs require them to have childs life jackets and adult ones as well.
You don't have to, but why not. It'll only make things easier
Yes, they will transport them, though I believe the is an extra bagage fee. Alternatively, you can rent on island if just doing a day trip.
$22 is both ways when purchased together.
There is a higher Ticket price if you bring oversized items. I drive many clients down there from ILM airport. Have seen as many as 30 bikes waiting for people to pick up.
Yes, 24/7 parking, we stayed for a week and our vehicles were secure. Agree with others, secure and conceal your belongings.
I've never been charged for bags. Not sure about kayaks and such. Call ahead 👍✌️
Ferry runs 7days a week unless they evacuate no matter what the weather
