I have an abscess and it’s extremely painful. After hours of waiting, and still grateful they saved my life from infection, I was told it isn’t ready to drain which would give me great relief. I said I was disappointed they aren’t draining it, because this hurts a lot, and the doctor transformed into a child before my eyes and started speaking to me sarcastically throwing a fit. I tried to explain that I understood she did everything she could, and that being disappointed about not getting surgical relief wasn’t a direct insult to her, but she walked away and didn’t even properly discharge me. I just had to call back because I’m already back to being as incapacitated as I was when I got there, asking when I can be reevaluated for surgery and they’re arguing with me on the phone about how they did everything they could. Come to find out the doctor didn’t tell me I can call the surgeon in the morning. She was too distressed by my personal disappointment to do her job as a medical doctor. This is unacceptable and I hope she considers some personal communications training so she can be the bigger person next time and compose herself like a doctor should be able to. Besides from the doctor losing her temper at the end, the staff took good care of me.Things might be easier for them if they had more people and more ER beds, always super packed here. I called surgeon in the morning and was told the ER doctor said I didn’t need my abscess drained, when clearly I did. The surgeon had to come in on his day off to relieve me of pain by draining my abscess. I will be filling a formal complaint against the doctor who nearly forced me to suffer for a week and get the wrong procedure.

I went in for strep throat and was given an oral steroid- it did absolutely nothing as expected. I had to go to another agency to finally get the proper medicine because I could not breathe or eat without being in pain. Nurses could care less about me and were rushing every aspect of the visit. They billed the completely wrong insurance company, and it wasn't until a few months ago that they FINALLY answered my phone call.

My experience at Mad River has left me truly traumatized. I thought I had been poisoned with a coffee I was given. Suddenly all of my muscles were seizing, I could barely move, and I was freezing and shivering even though the temperature was in the 70s. The ER staff didn't even give me a bottle of water. They didn't even test my pee. They didn't record my temperature. They didn't give me a place to lie down. After using their phone to call a friend to pick me up who was on his way, I was told I was trespassing and that I would be arrested if I did not leave immediately. I was then forced to carry my bags and suitcase all the way to the road, which is at least 300 yards away. I felt even worse after leaving the hospital, without so much as an ibuprofen.

Great attention and atmosphere. They explained everything to detail and the nurses are so kind.

I dont know. But I can tell you they are not a good place to go in an emergency situation. The wait it well over two hours and I heard the staff say, " If he didn't want to wait for two hours, he should revaluate whether or not he needs to be seen at all". Spoken about a man who crashed his bike and dislocated his shoulder
Because there are people dying to get in. Lol
