I have worked at the Carmel Hills Care Center SNF in the rehabilitation department (Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy) for over a decade. CHCC does not contract out their therapists. CHCC is privately owned and their focus are the residents and patients, as well as, the therapists. 90% of the therapist are locals and are committed to our community. Instead of the typical SNF, when patient load is down, the therapist go home unpaid; the owners of CHCC will continue to support and honor the therapist's commitment to CHCC. The owner's allow treatments to the residents who need it (even if there is no reimbursement for these treatments). This is unheard of! This is a great place to work. The rehab team works well together, like a well oiled engine. Both Travis and Mae, manage the team and provide excellent leadership. I would have my parents stay here if they needed it. I also recommend any therapist who is looking for a home to work here.

My mother entered the facility April 3rd of last year. She was also a hospice patient. The care that Carmel Hill has provided to my mom has been exceptional. They helped her live her last days with dignity and grace. They were responsive to her needs, although she was somewhat non-communicative. She was bathed daily and cleaned up on a regular schedule. The staff has been more that accommodating to our family's requests. They are truly an exceptional group to work with. My experience with my mother being a resident here has all been very positive. I find that if you have a loved one here it is very important that you are present that you visit often and get to know the staff. The CNA's took very good care of my mother and communicated well with our private caregivers. They were always attentive to all her needs and worked as a team with our private caregivers. The Nurses were exceptionally caring by making sure my mother took her meds with chocolate pudding. The activities staff were enthusiastic and caring; the kitchen staff were attentive to my mother’s preferences in food. The entire staff is to be commended for the professional way they go about difficult job they have. Once again, I would say that if you do have a loved one in care anywhere you should visit them often. I think that really affects their care, when the staff knows that your loved one is not just being dropped off but instead they are still an active part of their family. My mother recently passed away April 13, 2022 she had dementia. For years, we care for her at home and as she progressed, we had to make that hard decision to place her here. We are so fortunate to have found this place for my mother, how all the staff took such great care of her. I want to thank the administration Carole Dorsey, RN Director of Nursing Services for accommodating our whole family to be able to see my mom on her last moments of life, and Thank you to all the staff for the kindness and wonderful care you showed for my mother. Although we are still grieving her passing, it is a comfort to know that she was at the right place being cared for by the right people. Thanks so much for taking great care of my mom. I had an amazing experience with the therapists and staff in the rehabilitation department during my volunteer experience at carmel hills care center. Knowledgeable and compassionate staff provided individualized, one on one care for each of their patients. They created a welcoming and friendly environment for individuals to begin their path to recovery. Their approach made therapy sessions something to look forward to. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!
