It seems that Bart is in the business of providing excellent environments for commuters. They seem to have thought of everything. Most of the stations have some kind of architectural or some other kind of art that is really compelling and thought-provoking. They also seem to be expanding exponentially.

Yes. Near the escalators. The spaces are for cars with the drivers waiting inside them to pick up passengers.
There are spaces, in the lot, and around the neighborhood, which can be hit or miss. Watch for the 2 hour parking zones if you park on the street. There are reserved spaces in the lot, and if they're not taken, by 10 am they become available. If you park in the lot, don't forget to note the parking space number. Inside the station there's a machine and you'll need to enter your space number and pay a dollar for that space.

You are near several streets that are similar to downtown Telegraph Ave in Berkeley in shopping density.
It is small compared to other BART parking lots, but a good portion of it is sheltered from the rain.
