Ground transportation is a hike from baggage claim. No weather protection. What a mess!
Dr Adler
The island was kinda short
Christopher Gloninger
For an airport that services a handful of flights daily…baggage claim takes 45 minutes
Steven G
Always a pleasure. To the gate in less than 10 minutes. Friendly staff all the way around. Gladly pay the slight bump in airfare to avoid the city airports and eliminate the commute.

It's like $16 a day in long term parking
You can take a $5 village taxi to the Ronkonkoma train station and buy a ticket to Penn station.
You can also take a Babylon train and connect to the Montauk line to Sayville and take the S57 bus. There is also a bus called Hampton Jitney but it stops on the east side of Manhattan. You can take either the 8th Avenue Local or express subway to either Penn station or sutphin boulevard archer avenue jfk station which connects to the Jamaica Station or 7th avenue or any other subway line except the grand central shuttle to Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, Woodside Station, Forest Hills Station or Kew gardens station in queens and take either the long island rail road Babylon line to Babylon and connect to the Montauk line to Sayville or take the Ronkonkoma line to Ronkonkoma and take the S57 Suffolk county transportation bus to the airport
Yes they have a long term lot, short term and resident lots.
Call and check or check the website.
You can board. You may need to answer additional questions but TSA will get you through
About $40.00
Yes
There is a departure/arrival rooster online at their site. Please check their menu listing.
Southwest, American and frontier
Yes there are taxis waiting and of course uber and lift
No
Yes they do..you can check on their website as well http://www.macarthurairport.com
The Suffolk Transit bus passes through but not a 'greyhound.' The Greyhound stations are in Hempstead and Brooklyn with bus stops in Nassau. Closest to the airport is the GH bus stop on 700 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. The next Greyhound bus stop is in Babylon at 238 Deer Park Road.
LIRR Ronkonkoma station is a 5 minute cab ride. The station is actually less then a 300 yards over the airport's north perimeter fence but no direct access currently exists from the airport to the station.
Hi Fanny, from Penn station (midtown Manhattan), the best thing is to take train 2016 to RONKONKOMA station which is very close to Long Island MacArthur airport (ISP). It will take you 1h23min! Then, maybe you can take an UBER from the station to the airport, which is about a 12 minute drive! The Ronkonkoma train also departs from other places in Manhattan. All the best!
I believe it will be American Airlines
Its a 2hr drive
American Airlines and Frontier
It's the army base I took a picture outside the gate you can't go in it's the army base over by BOCES School district South Hamptons
Take the LIE to 454 and its a straight shot to MacArthur
Depending on how far you are. I would say at least 9:45
As Mark said, need to take taxi to railroad station. It's not that far of a drive.
Town of Islip office inside the airport
Long Island is served by two year-round ferry lines that cross the Long Island Sound, connecting Port Jefferson to Bridgeport, Connecticut and Orient Point to New London, Connecticut. Use Google maps to see distance to those 2 ferry landings from Mac Apt.
Yes
Must have mask in in Airport and plane.
If you have the Islip permit...
Yes, you fly into Tampa. New Port Richey is about a 30 minute drive north.
Currently McArthur airport is not charging for any parking.
They are not charging for parking right now
Pay when you return at the booth. Don't know prices
Southwest and Frontier are the only two airlines
20 mins, 11.7 miles
Frontier is here to stay. The redesign is adding a second floor in the west wing. Frontier will have new seating.
Very few flights land here and so you can easily identify the claim belt.. most of the time only one belt is active...
Yes however your flight attendant will tell you which baggage claim to go to. Baggage claim #1 is American Airlines, #2 is Frontier Airlines, #3 & #4 is Southwest Airlines.
I suppose you don't have any problem in the check point you has a reasonable reason to bring with you the bottle
They're always renovating and improving.
No. Just American, Frontier and Southwest.
Domestic but you can catch connections to international
There are lots just West of the terminal for each of the rental companies. Just look for the sign for your rental company.
They have long term and short term. It's about $14 a day
If you're an islip town resident there is a permit available which is good for 2 years $60
You can park in the cell phone lot for free and wait for your passengers to arrive. Its lot 6B
If it's an early flight leave plenty of time to get through screening. It gets crowded and slow early during the first flights out
Nothing special. Just make sure that are in original containers in your name.
No it doesn't
I would get there at least an hour ahead of flight time in case there are multiple flights departing. It does get crowded at screening depending on the time of departure.
There is long term parking in the airport before the terminal on Arrival Avenue. Effective from 07/01/19, the long term parking rates is $17.00 per 24 hours. So based on that 4 days parking will be about $68. If you are a resident of the Town of Islip, you can obtain a resident parking permit from the airport which lets you park in specific lots. For more information, visit www.macaurthurairport.com/parking/parking-maps or www.macaurthurairport.com/parking/parking-rates-info
LIRR ronkonkoma station is a short 5-10 mjnute cab ride away. $5 for the fare
24 hours
Actually, starting April 29 they are starting service from islip to Atlanta. You can go on the frontier site and book directly.
It takes about 2hrs and 40 mins to Tampa
The Ronkonkoma station is close to the airport but the terminal is far away. You can take a taxi, bus, uber ...
YES, BWI airport.
yes
Yes, at the beginning of the departures lane.
One million dollars
I not believe .that America! !!
Yes, check with Frontier and Southwest
Yes, just stuff your purse inside the backpack.
No
Yes, frontier offers direct flights to PBI as well as Southwest. You can also use American Airlines but will have to connect at PHL.
There is ample parking it has never been an issue you shouldn't have any problems
You will pay for short term parking as you exit the airport.
If you can afford it call Uber or a taxi to take you to Sayville station. Sayville LIRR train head east to East Hampton. Your options for public transit from the airport are limited. The S-57 bus will take you to Sayville LIRR. But it runs on a specific schedule, no late hours. You may check the airport's information or tourism boards.
Yes :)
Yes, there are direct flights to Orlando from ISP, with Southwest and Frontier. I fly the route frequently and always use Southwest.
You may check with Islip town administration. It may be the building across from the movie theater. Refer to the department that issue parking permits. If not there, they'll direct you elsewhere.
You should plan on arriving one hour before boarding.
At least 90 minutes, be safe and go to your carrier's website for specifics. It's not a busy nor large airport, going through TSA is quick.
The official website of the airport lists the rates and other relative info about the parking. Please look it up.
I have brought sandwiches and snacks. Liquids are prohibited. There are a few snack bars there.
Hi Rolando, I think it's between 15 to 20 dollars per day. Go on their website for exact amounts. Let me know if you have additional questions. I love that airport!
2 1/2 hours costed me 8.75
I know there is long term as well as short term parking lots. You won't need a shuttle, it's a relatively small airport. Contact the airport or go to their website for costs.
Just go to there website, or you can download the airline that you are taking right into your phone and check that way
No Alaska doesn't fly to ISP. I would recommend Southwest. Frontier (although cheap) tends to experience delays.
Verify por goggles.
From the rail it may be between 170 and 230 minutes to travel from Mid-Bronx to McAuthur Airport.
Timothy Gaffney is correct! I always fly to ISP, this weekend I had to fly into JFK from Orlando. I hated it. What a stark difference. If you could fly from/to ISP to your origin/destination do so. I don't think you'll regret it.
Not that I know of but there are taxis
For American all flights stop at Philly then you catch a plane to MacArthur
Its just like a regular airport. Be there two hours before your flight
Yes on site with a shuttle bus or an easy walk to it
To be sure, please consider going online. Visit the McArthur website. You can quickly check the listing of arrivals and departures of all the airlines operating at McArthur airport. The listing, of course, updates by the minute. Please pass the word around; it seems like some persons are unaware.
Southwest, Frontier n AA
Uber around $70 taxi over $100
The Ronkonkoma train will not take you directly to Amityville. Instead, you take a taxi ride or the S-57 bus to Sayville LIRR Station. The train line is Montauk heading to Babylon. From Babylon, you'll get to Amityville station. If you feel you should go to Ronkonkoma, remember you have to get off at either Hempstead or Jamaica to travel back east to Amityville.
Nope
Yeah, frontier
No
Taxi, or you may use the S-57 bus to go either Sayville or Ronkonkoma LIRR stations.
Yes is average,.. not bad for the price
On the website, there is a list of arrivals and departures with the airliners' names.
You may transfer from the airport to the Ronkonkoma or Sayville LIRR stations. Both would take you west to Manhattan pending their schedules. Ronkonkoma is the closest train station to the airport.
It costs 10-13 dollars to get to Manhattan. Take the LIRR from Ronkonkoma
Pardon me, it is the Ronkonkoma LIRR station. The next possible station might in Sayville, south of the airport. Both depots have connecting SCT buses. I am unsure of the specific bus routes, it may be S-56 or S-57. The Citymapper app may be helpful in understanding which transport may be effective. Because it includes the LIRR lines and Suffolk buses schedules according to updates and changes.
A get away flight means a deserving and rejuvenating vacation for me, you or someone else. It also means officially for Southwest, inexpensive flights. A trip from Islip to Orlando, Florida may be as low as $117, one way.
There are both carts and airport staff available.
Yes via frontier airlines
It matters what size the duffle bag is of course. A "standard" duffle bag (a gym bag) is a carry on. Regarding when to get there before your flight, normally you should always leave plenty of time, more than you think you will need in case you need to repack your suit case with things you think can go in your carry on or other last minute unexpected/ unforeseen "disasters". That being said, this is an extremely small airport with only 2 wings or branches for you to walk to, and they are short. You cannot get lost or confused.
The Southwest Airlines, American Airlines , Frontier Airlines
Not sure which airline you’re flying but for frontier airline is free for personal 12”x18”x8” (must fit under seat) $35 for carry on 10”x16”x24” under 35lbs and $30 for checked under 62 linear inches under 50lbs. Prices are for at time of booking. They will charge more if you try to add luggage after you’ve booked.
Inside the airport terminal there are stands with brochures and information about the immediate locality.
Southwest, frontier, and limited American airlines are the airlines that arrive and depart from (Isp) MacArthur Airport
Go to their website
Frontier airline and southwest airline and American fly from ISP it depends on which airline. Southwest includes 2 free check-in bags up to 50lbs each
Frontier, southwest, and American airlines. Southwest and frontier seem to be the most frequent and offers many nonstop flights.
Southwest does not have it. I'm unsure about frontier and american airlines, which are the only other airlines that fly from there.
There's an Anthony's coalfire pizza right before entering the airport lots, if you want a sit in. But inside there's limited options: A&W, pizza, and a limited sandwich place, as well as Starbucks. There is 1 seafood bar/restaurant too
Airports likely have a process in place to offer refunds. Because many sorts of occurrences may affect travelers. If you have some spare time on a non-traveling day or well before your departure. Consider addressing the airport staff and ask how you might obtain a refund. You'll need your receipts. You may try calling but it is not a guarantee you'll get through for a immediate answer. For more info, consider visiting their website under the menu of parking.
Ronkonkoma station on the main line. Cost by cab varies but is inexpensive compared to long term parking for a few days.
They have some already lined up in the middle of the pick up/drop off area. There is also a courtesy phone and desk with pamphlets that you can call
Direct flights from MacArthur Airport operate daily to the following Florida airports: Orlando, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Fort Myers, and Tampa. Numerous other Florida cities can be reached if you are willing to change planes in either Philadelphia or Baltimore.
Yes, there are flights to and from Richmond, the cost aside other expenses might be between $157 and 180.
Frontier is starting flights to Myrtle Beach soon
The long-term parking rate at MacArthur Airport is $15.50 per day. Therefore, 6 days will cost $93.00.
Yes, Frontier Airlines operates 2 direct flights each day from MacArthur Airport to Miami International Airport.
MacArthur has always been very good in terms of being traveler friendly. The Airport's recent addition of Frontier, which has added many new direct flights, has really helped to elevate MacArthur as a regional airport. My opinion is 8.5 out of 10. The airport could do a bit better with food concessions and upgrade gate space for Frontier.
Disabled Persons with valid disabled parking permits can park in the Short-Term (hourly) lot if they cannot use the long-term parking lot. At time of payment, the disabled permit must be presented in order to be charged the reduced rate (Long Term parking rate, rather than Short Term parking rate).
Yes, most flights departures end around 10:30pm that I've noticed from flying there often the last 6 yrs. That's lastest flight that I've been able to take from Southwest airlines though. they now have limited American airline and frontier flights there too, but I don't think they serve later flights.
Long term parking is $15.50 per day, so 5 days would be $77.50.
From the Bronx you would take the Subway to either Penn or Jamaica station. Then take the LIRR to Ronkonkoma station. The airport is a 5 minute taxi ride from Ronkonkoma station.
They charge $15.50 per day so in this case you would be charged for 4 days for a total of $62.00.
By car, take the Long Island Expressway to exit 57s, Veterans Highway. The airport is approximately 3 miles south. You could also take the Long Island Railroad's main line to the Ronkonkoma Station. The airport is a 5 minute cab ride from the station.
Long-term parking per day is $15.50.
Not mucho. $15.50 per day.
MacArthur Airport currently has only direct flights to domestic US airports. If you are willing to change planes, you can call American Airlines or Southwest Airlines to see if they fly to the city in Mexico you are looking for.
No direct flights from Macarthur Airport to Jacksonville. American Airlines and Southwest Airlines both offer 1 stop flights connecting in Philadelphia and Baltimore respectively.
