By car, take the Long Island Expressway to exit 57s, Veterans Highway. The airport is approximately 3 miles south. You could also take the Long Island Railroad's main line to the Ronkonkoma Station. The airport is a 5 minute cab ride from the station.

By public transportation you may take the Montauk LIRR to the Sayville LIRR and then take a a taxi to McArthur Airport. Or you may take the Suffolk Transit bus from Sayville railroad station to McArthur. It may be either the S-56 or S-57 going north from the station. If you are driving you want to eventually get on the Long Island Expressway going east. There may be considerable traffic. You drive to Sagitosk Parkway exiting south. It will split into Southern State, east and west. You head east towards Islip on Southern State Parkway. Drive til you see the exit for 27A East to Montauk Highway. Please take that exit east. Now you are heading onto Sunrise Highway from Montauk Highway. It is advisable you drive on the service road going east on Sunrise. Or you might miss the sign for McArthur on your right side. It's easy to miss on the main highway. The exit is Johnson Avenue North turn left to towards route 454 heading direct to the airport.
