Called two months ago to get a birth certificate. It never came. Called again one month ago to check the status and they said it's been processed and will be mailed that morning. It never came. Here it is once again a month later and still no birth certificate... We call again and get the same runaround as the other times. "It's processed and we're putting in the mail right now..." Sure didn't have an issue taking my money though.

There is no way in the world they're getting 5s. Requested a copy of my mother's death certificate. It was recommended that I call to make sure of the correct information. Simple question, "can you give me the address that the death certificate is going to be mailed to?" I know to dont talk in tongues or Swahili. Buddy acted like he couldn't hear or read. He literally said a wrong address. I told him that's not the right address. In so many ways he still didn't say the right address. Saying, "what you just said" isn't an acceptable answer. Do better. It's not like I was being rude, or condescending. Just wanted a simple verification.

Go to the register of deeds, fill out the form, pay the amount owed ($10 certified, $0.50 uncertified) with cash only. Boom. Birth certificate.
I would think that both individuals should go to the deeds office with identification and proof of address. This may also be something handled through state records in Raleigh, that the deeds office can assist with. Hopefully placing your name on a birth certificate, you are serious about the responsibility.
