My son and I went by there, and the lady with blonde and purple hair was very rude and too straight forward. When you surrender an animal they should just say, okay we will see what we can do for them. Don't make people feel worse than they all ready do. Bringing an animal there, sometimes is very rough, without someone there making things worse.

Got my loving kitty from here and these cats are from my experience well loving and ready to go

I haven't forgotten about the family pet you "accidentally" euthanized over a mix up of paperwork (blaze the 16 month old heeler, 2019), despite everything that's happened since then. I haven't forgotten, and neither should YOU. Nor should you forget the cruel "gas chamber incident" years before that. Never forget those memories, and never forget that you're expected to do better than that by animal lovers all across the US.

That video was from more than 8 years ago. The shelter is no longer under that management and has new staff for the last several years. This shelter does still euthanize if necessary but no longer uses the gas chamber at all. The current staff of the DCAS is the best of any shelter I've ever worked with, they go above and beyond to help every animal they can help. They do the best they can do in a county that badly needs owner education and better spay/neuter options.
I'm just now seeing ths..Has someone saved this baby?? We're looking for a dog
They have a sign on the door That states if you bring in an animal it may be euthanized within 24 hrs. Because they are full.

You can shots for 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years. $10 per year. So 3 years would be $30

We are just an animal shelter, we can't offer veterinary services to the public.
Is SNIP taking applications again?

Please contact them at 336-249-0131
Yes, you must have proof of residence in Davidson County and a valid ID. However, we do recommend trying to place her in another home or contacting rescues around the area because unfortunately we cannot guarantee that she will be adopted.
Cats are $75 which includes vaccines, spay/neuter, and microchip
Yes they do if it's a shelter animal put up for adoption. You must see a vet if you wish to get your personal pet a chip.
I just called the shelter and checked. She is still there right now. Thank you, Zak Crotts Commissioner
No drop off box, can't you keep it until tomorrow or find someone who will? You can take him to an emergency vet as a Good Samaritan and they will take it and post on Facebook to try to find its home
You can adopt the same day. We adopted a cat a few days ago. They just run a background check and if you pass you're good to go.
Yes they do.
If they don't have one, Friends in Need Animal Rescue pulled one from the shelter and we have him ready now. JINGLES

free dog iml ask my mom
I don't know for sure but if an animal has a sponsored adoption I would think the fee would be waived. Call them and find out for sure. People sponsor certain animals to make sure they get good homes instead of the alternative.
Not that i know of, but we did have a German Shepherd that was a little over a year old. He's defenitly a pushover!
As of right now, im not too sure. However, I know we have had a diverse amount of animals here, ranging from the common pooch to cockatoos and rabbits! Our stock of dogs and cats are constantly rotating, with new additions every week or so! You can always stop by when you get the chance to and browse for yourself when you get the chance.
Kill shelter, unfortunately, wish it was otherwise. but, gas chamber removed a few years ago
Hello Tara! Adoption fees for all dogs are at $95, and cats are $75. Reclaim fees for pets start at $25, and increase by $25 for each reclaim. Rabies shots are $10, the same going for microchips. We hope your questions have been answered, and we give a major apology for the late answer!
