We dropped off a pet ramp they can use for senior dogs. Chewy refunded the cost and told to donate it to a local shelter. We have a rescue dog and know how important shelters are.

Cat rescue no dogs

I’m just now getting to sharing this event from Dec 2020 as it’s going to be a bit of a long story. I highly recommend going to any other rescue and avoid supporting this establishment. As an individual who has worked in animal care for years this place is a fraud. My boyfriend and I set up an appointment to adopt a specific kitten. We filled out the adoption paperwork via email and were told we’d be able to adopt her at the visit but she would have to be spayed before they release her to us. Understandable. We are from New York and drove almost 2 hours to this rescue because there were no available kitten adoptions in our surrounding area. We arrived at the rescue. Meet the sweet little kitten named Kissy Face, only to be told she had just been adopted earlier that day prior to our arrival. Now here is the real kicker- the manager adopted this kitten out to an individual who returned another cat THAT DAY that they had adopted from the rescue previously. We were not contacted once that day before driving to this place so we wouldn’t have wasted our time and gas driving there. Then to follow that this other person returned an older cat they didn’t want anymore because it’s “personality” didn’t turn out the way they wanted it to, and they were allowed to adopt another kitten that was put on hold for us?! The manager and owner didn’t even care about our appointment, that were were so upset and disappointed, and told us to just adopt another cat because they have plenty. They were disgustingly rude, and unprofessional. The owner mouthed off to me on the phone and told me to get over it. The manager said she didn’t see anything wrong with adopting out a cat to someone who just returned another cat because she understood what she meant about not liking the cat’s personality because the cat was SHY. Which most cats are in the beginning of your relationship together!!! There was also another older couple there who had adopted a kitten from this rescue for their children. The cat, from what I understood in the conversation, fell ill and they brought it back to the rescue in search of vet care. They thought when they had dropped the cat off and signed papers it was for vet care, but the owner had them actually sign the cat back over to to the rescue and this couple no longer owned the cat. The poor couple said they had been trying to contact the rescue on the status of their cat with no response. They were devastated. Even the volunteers there were in shock at the events playing out all at the same time. My heart broke for this couple and their family. This establishment is one of the most chaotic rescues I have visited yet. I’ve always adopted, and this has been the worst place I have inquired adopting from. There was no professionalism to be found. There was no proper communication whatsoever. They should be ashamed of themselves, but they aren’t. It’s very clear this place is in it for the money and not because they actually have love and compassion for saving animals and ensuring they go to good, safe homes.
