Hello, You have asked about our Covid19 precautions and we are happy to tell you that we have been taking every precaution advised by the CDC and other experts. All surfaces including counters, door handles, bathroom facilities, light switches and all keyboards are disinfected several times a day. We also require all employees and customers to wear mask and maintain social distance at all times. We do not usually have more than a few people in the store at one time so it is fairly easy to keep our distance and protect one another. It is well know that paper goods require a very short quarantine time period of 4 hours so books that are traded in are usually only allowed to be shelved after that time period. We hope our diligence help all of us to stay safe and healthy. Patricia Hagell Spires, Manager The Book Dispensary
Hello Lucille, Thank you for your inquiry. We do not buy books, instead we do trade. This allows you to trade in your old books for trade credit which gives you the biggest discount on all your purchases. Encyclopedias are no longer in much demand. I usually suggest to people who ask about donating them to check with prisons and nursing homes to see if they can use them. People in these institutions usually don't have ready access to computers. I hope this helps. Patti Spires, Manager / Bookseller The Book Dispensary
Yes, we accept donations. We give trade credits to lower the cost of your purchase when you have trade credit from the books you bring in to trade or you can donate to our Teacher Project that give your trade credits to teacher for their purchase of any books for their classroom and students as well as any books they purchase for their own educational development.
The airport is about fifteen minutes away. Yes you can trade in old or used books for compensation for other books. Hope I answered your questions.
Hello Michelle, Thank you for your inquiry about our policies. We are not buying books at this time but we do have a great trade policy. When you trade in your old books, for trade credit, you can receive up to 70% off of any soft cover book and 50% off any hardcover book. You can even use your trade credits to purchase a collectable item and receive 50% off that item. This has been our policy for over 45 years and our customers love it. Hope to see you in the store soon. Thanks again, Patti Hagell Spires, Manager / Bookseller at The Book Dispensary
