In South Carolina, there are statutes of limitations on the types of cases we handle. For most case types, this time limit is three years from the time of the injury. In cases involving claims against government entities, the statute of limitations is two years. It is generally in a person’s best interest to act as quickly as possible if they want to file a claim. Additionally, it might be worth the time to explore your options even if you’re unsure whether the deadline has passed. This is especially true of wrongful death claims, in which “discovery” rules might be applicable.
Each case is different. In our experience, some cases have been resolved in a matter of weeks, while others can take several months or longer. We will be able to give you a better idea of what to expect after we learn more about the details of your case.
You pay us nothing upfront. You will only be responsible for paying us an attorney's fee if we are successful and you win compensation. If you don’t get compensation, we take no fee. We understand the financial concerns facing many our clients, so we do everything we can to lessen their economic burdens.
There are many factors that determine how much your case is ultimately worth. This is one of the key reasons we offer consultations. If we take your case, we will research your situation and investigate the extent of your damages to determine the amount you are owed in compensation. Be wary of any firm that assigns a dollar amount to your case without knowing the details.
Yes. We offer free and confidential case evaluations and consultations. After the consultation, you have no obligation to proceed unless you feel comfortable doing so.
