I have recently hiked twice within the Edgewood Park Preserve and found both to be very enjoyable. The first time I hiked in from the Clarkia trail and took a loop around the southern section of the park. My second trip started on the northern side hiking the Sylvan trail starting from Old Stage Mill Road. At that site there was an office where I could find out more about wildflowers and the best trail to take and what to look for. On both trails I found a variety of different wildflowers and nice vistas, some of which stretched to a scenic view of Redwood City and the bay. I also saw a nice variety of wildflowers (pictured). The hikes were easy to moderate and well worth a few hours to enjoy.

As soon as we got to the off leash area, my three dogs found a large Southern Pacific Rattlesnake at the side of the road. Luckily the snake rattled enough to alert me and we got out of there. It's dry and hot this time of year so should have expected this, probably a decent hike otherwise.

Its a good county park. Multiple trails leading to breathtaking scenic views. It's a easy-moderate hike. Doesn't take more than 90mins to complete the trail. Restrooms available at the start of the trail. Downside: it has Limited parking.

There are tons of warrior plumes! There are quite a few flowers in the forested areas, including checker lilies, hound's tongue, etc. The flowers in the grasslands are just starting to develop.

No, it's only nature info. There is a chilled water fountain and very clean restoorms in there though.

It's late in the season. Go during Spring for the best show.
