Went on September 2022 and this place needs major repairs and improvements. Bridge outside by the pond is falling apart. And needs more attractions.

We have been here once before a few years ago but it seems that no improvements of any kind have been made to it. In fact we feel there may be less exhibits than in the past. I would have probably given it a 4☆ if it wasn't for one of the workers who ruined the ending of our experience. They announced 5 minutes prior to closing that they were closing therefore we began proceeding to the entrance & of course our daughter began looking in the gift shop to purchase something. She finally picked an item at which time the worker (an older short white hair lady) who had been standing on the register 10 to 15 feet away from us & looking at us shopping said that it was 5:00 pm & she had closed the register. I didn't want to get into it because it wasn't worth it but this was very inconsiderate. Of course my 7 year old began tearing & my wife gives the lady the look & am containign myself from causing a scene. We chose to exit the building but have agreed to never return.

I'm currently 13, going here soon for a "field trip," and I really disliked this place when I went for a school trips previously (in 2nd + 4th grade). Do you think I'd get bored fast? Or is it "better" now?

Christopher Durso | Sep 11, 2020
IMAG History & Science Center | Sep 11, 2020

Hi Christopher, thanks for the question. We are always adding new experiences to IMAG. In August we opened Science on a Sphere and Google EarthWall, which are both interactive experiences where you can explore the the Earth and our solar system. In September we opened Be the Astronaut, a fully immersive simulator experience developed with NASA. You will learn about space travel, plan a mission and then execute it in one of the 16 simulators. We have 3 new 3D movies (if your group has booked it), a Virtual Reality experience, an Augmented Reality Sandbox experience, and a whole lot more added in the last few years. Short answer, if you have not been here in a few years, we are "better" now!

Do they offer special rates for homeschool or homeschool teachers??

christa bazaco | Sep 12, 2018
IMAG History & Science Center | Sep 12, 2018

Hi Christa, You can bring in a group and be treated as a field trip with a prior reservation. There is a 15 student minimum if you have less than that you can still have a field trip but you would have to pay for the 15. It is $5 per student and $5 per parent/chaperone. To watch one of the movies, there is an added $2 per person because then we add that to the schedule. You also have the choice to add a workshop for about $3 per person and all of those details are on our website under the field trip page. We hope this is helpful! Have a great day!
