Came in for an oil change and to get a tire patch for a car that I gifted to a friend. They tried to upsell me on a bunch of repairs that the car didn't need and implied that I didn't keep up maintenance on the car, which I most definitely kept up with. I feel as though I was treated the way I was because they just assumed that I wouldn't know anything about cars because I am a girl. I knew that some of the repairs that they were trying to upsell to me were A. overpriced and B. unnecessary. Fun fact, my fiancé's brother was a master mechanic for Ford, my aunt works on cars, and my dad is also a mechanic who has worked on cars and is also an aircraft mechanic. Through watching them, I obtained a lot of knowledge and knew exactly what to look for. After my appointment, I decided to get under the car and check things for myself and I found that I absolutely did not need to have any of those extra repairs that they were going to charge me $2,400+ for. To confirm this, I called one of the mechanics I know and told him that there were no symptoms related to what firestone was trying to claim was damaged and even sent pictures and he called BS and confirmed my suspicion. I also took the car by a mechanic in person and they also confirmed that the car did not need those repairs. I will never use Firestone again. I will just save myself the headache and money. I will go to trustworthy shops that will do honest work without the price gauging and lies.
