This wasn't a good hotel for the price. I was there for a conference. Upon check in, the front desk agent failed to acknowledge me while he stayed on the phone for over 20 minutes. When he finally checked me in he was rude and exasperated. The room I stayed in was decently clean, but the carpets in there were probably decades old and the rooms are dated. There were hairs in the shower, presumably from the previous guest, which was disgusting. Best of all, HOUSEKEEPING DID NOT COME ONCE IN MY 5 DAY STAY. They say they have cut down to after 3 days then every other day. So after 3 days I asked the front desk if I could have housekeeping come by - they said they'd take care of that. Another day went by, I tried again to request a visit from the front desk and STILL I didn't get a turndown service. All I needed was some new towels and more shampoo, but I wasn't able to despite several requests. The food at The Bar was pretty fine, although they don't have any healthy options which would have been nice for people who are eating there often and might not want burgers, wings and cheese curds every night. Overall, unfriendly service, no housekeeping, outdated rooms.

Stayed for Friday night in July - 14th floor. Friendly staff and solid hotel in a great location. Absolutely must stay on the upper floors with access to the fantastic small/private governor club spaces (and attentive service). Rooms are a little dated but adequate & roomy. Garage height is tight so may need to park nearby. However, on the night we stayed there was a public concert/DJ on the street below that made any time in the room headache-inducing and unbearable during the performance. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, BOOK A ROOM IN 2022 ON JULY 29, AUG 12, AUG 26, SEP 9, SEP 23, OR OCT 7 IF YOU NEED TO BE IN YOUR ROOM 8-11PM (NOTE: "MAD LIT" CONCERT EXTENDED UNTIL 11:15 DURING OUR VISIT).

Epic booked this hotel for us as a " check out my new hometown" for my daughter who will be working in Verona ( Epic also paid for the flight). The hotel is great for checking out Madison, in the center. The room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Pool area was well maintained. We were able to walk almost everywhere. A great choice for a first trip! ( and beyond).

Large rooms. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have slept in. Great views from the windows. Either overlooking the lake or a view of the Capital. It is worth upgrading to the Governors floors. Very polite staff. It is my perferred hotel, while staying Madison. It may cost a bit more, but well worth it.

I have always stayed in the hotel lot, but the hotel will tell you the next best place if that's full

Yes. The lobby is more casual, while the governor's club is exclusive.
No shopping malls per se... But there are several small boutiques in the area. It's a great place to just walk around downtown Madison!
Usually 11 am, but I suggest you call the front desk. They're usually flexible, giving you 1-2 extra hours.
Quivies Grove is very close by and has wonderful food and atmosphere
