This museum is a must see if you are visiting Bakersfield, and a regular destination if you love here. There are always fun activities for families going on. There is an extensive collection of shark teeth from Sharktooth Hill.

Very surprising experience with lots to do and see . Great for all ages. The downstairs is a large playroom for kids. I brought ages 4-12 on this specific trip.

We had lots of fun here , looks small but the museum is 3 stories with an elevator. My kids ages 2-8 had a lot of fun , tons of activities for the kids as well as science projects on certain days. Staff is very friendly , knowledgeable and awesome!

It is open. They're thru some renovations but still going on. Been there with mi wife and 7yo daughter on 11/11/21. Fee is $8 for adults and $4 kids. That was $20 well spent, daughter lived the dino exhibit, wife the native American one; and me...well loved it all.
The museum is not open due to fire damage repairs. It will be open again in about a week. There should be an update on their website.
Regular Admission is $8 per adult Free to military. Suggest you go to their website for different admission on special days http://www.sharktoothhill.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=menu&menu_id=14
When you first walk in you'll be in their gift shop. Everything they have for sale is on display. They have some small geodes for sale most of the time.
Take a picture, in pdf format and find the Smitsonian Institute website and and find out where to post the picture.Don't take them to the Museum, not sure there is a qualified curator of artifacts of this type that can give you information on what you have there. i am a local contract geologist and docent at the Museum.
