Pros: quiet, great view and garden-style, lots of dog owners, decent interiors. Parking is ok. Quiet apartment but we’re second story, so, could just be for that reason. Quartz countertops. Service technicians responsive. Con: WEED SMELL SO STRONG, U WAKE UP IN MIDDLE OF NIGHT & have to relaunder laundry basket -> Been huge issue in CA in private neighborhoods. NO PATHWAY LIGHTS AT NIGHT. Struggle for dog owners. GATE phone FOR VISITORS DOESN’T WORK right. Something breaks every almost every week even tho it’s all “new!” Sacrificed week work for fixing. Reno not full reno. Closet cabinets = kitchen cabinets. Color theme doesn’t work. NEW PAINT = NEW PAINT PATCHES. Didn’t repaint the walls. Can see old paint next to new paint. Probably why so many odors. They want us to be responsible for the condition of this apartment upon move-out + feel like-new? If you’re being charged more for a “renovated” apartment, look first. more of a refacing than renovation. TOILET SPACE is so SMALL that I + everyone who visits COMPLAIN ABOUT SQUISHING OUR FACE AGAINST THE VANITY. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t meet code. THEY DIDN’T LET US SEE THE APARTMENT AND WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR BEFORE PAYING 1st RENT. THEY DIDN’T LET US SEE THE APARTMENT AND WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR AFTER PUTTING DEPOSIT DOWN. They told us we’d have hardwood throughout. We don’t. That was really important because we have a pet. Admin feels absent. Nature view also means spot for people to hang out and smoke at. Leasing agent wasn’t helpful, rude, and upon eavesdropping, not elder friendly. He told us a lot of things that weren’t true. Weak dryer. Washer runs away. Needs energy improvements. Dishwasher smells hazardous. They reiterate appliances are new when we complain. Maybe new to this apartment... Appliances have handles that have sharp corners. We’ve hit our head a number of times. AC can’t keep up on hot days, but it manages. Fridge/ freezer not good for more than one person, especially if you like to stock up and cook. Freezer stops working if too much stuff. Fridge has so much depth, you lose things. Kitchen is small and dark. Not much prep space. NOT ENOUGH SPACE IN KITCHEN FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO COOK or MORE THAN ONE COOK. Apartment smelled like Las Vegas hotel room upon move-in and stays that way if we don’t keep a window open. ADD $100 to RENT if you use a credit card. Overpriced short term rent. No elevators and layout wouldn’t make it feasable to have one. Apartment was not clean at all upon move-in. HIRED SOMEONE TO DEEP CLEAN. Blinds constantly break without doing anything and were worst choice for a windy area. Up and down windows are difficult to open and close. It was CLEAR NO ONE actually REVIEWED the APARTMENT BEFORE OUR MOVE IN. I made many a several notes on our move-in inspection sheet. They didn’t care to look at it. Instead, they asked me to tell if anything significantly wrong. I told them to look at the sheet. They said it’s an old place. My complaints aren’t about it being old. I’m ok with the nonchalant attitude so long as I get to be that way, too. And they’re charging people move-out fees? ADMIN/ MGMT IS AWFUL & 100% ABSENT! LIKE TALKING TO A SCRIPTED CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT GOES NOWHERE. Service technicians should be running this complex. Mgmt does not do anything- literally, I don’t think they actually work.

This place is a racket. We lived here for only 3 months and this people had the audacity to charge us $300 from our security deposit for paint repairs. We left the apartment in the same condition we found it in. Stay away from Bel Air and Essex Property Trust. Dishonest business practices going on here.

Absolutely love this place. Staying in a townhome since last 2 years. Amazing fast and helpful maintenance staff. Very beautiful trees which look and feel natural. The clouds and sky are a walk away. Nested next to the Golf course, our family enjoys a great walk around the edge of the community with a beautiful serene view of the landscape. Very responsive and considerate community manager. Thanks so much for gifting this lifetime of an experience secluded and peaceful within nature’s lap.

I would like to start this review by stating that I am not someone who ever leaves reviews as I personally know the impact a negative review can have on a business. My husband and I have lived in Essex for 5 years. We have always had trouble reaching anyone in the office via phone but overall never had any large issues until recently. We moved from a one bedroom upstairs unit to a townhouse in March. Starting in May/June we noticed many large spiders in our unit; Wolf spiders, black widows etc. We have a brand new baby and were very concerned. We put a maintenance request in and they sprayed outside our apartment, which made the problem worse since all the spiders then came into our apartment to get away from the spray. We then told them the problem did not resolve so they sprayed inside our apartment. We had to load up our newborn and cat since we could not be in the apartment for 3 hours. We were fine with the inconvenience as long as it solved the problem. Still the issues has not been resolved and we continue to find daily 5-10 large wolf spiders and black widows. I contacted the office yet again to explain our concern for the spider infestation. We received an email back that stated that there was really nothing more they could do as there are many beautiful trees on the property they nest in. The email also stated we need to maintain a clean environment, which we do, but alluded to this being our problem. They also stated in the email that per our lease they do not guarantee a pest free environment. We would not expect a guarantee of a pest free environment but would expect help when a pest infestation is present. The management company is not helpful at all and I would not recommend anyone live here. We cannot wait for our lease to be up so we can move out. With proper pest control and landscaping these webs would not be present.

Too much. This apartment complex is not what it appears. All the windows and doors are drafty. The heater/AC does NOT work at all. All the tenants do not pick up their dog poop. I would not recommend this place.
