My grandparents moved in less than a year ago and their health has declined a lot since being here. My mother went in to see my grandparents today and found my grandfather on the floor with the same clothes that he had on yesterday which my mom helped him put on yesterday he was soiled in urine and some of which was dried cuz he was laying there for who knows how long. The staff doesn't help or do checks on them very often...I have worked for this company before and as a former caregiver don't send your loved ones here. My mother will be calling to talk to the owner but she is at the ER with my grandfather due to this fall. Pretty sad my mother was the one to find my grandfather on the floor and call 911...not the workers who are supposed to be checking on every resident every hour or 2!

Updated review: I recommend families or residents bring any issues directly to Grace's Administrator. Grace Assisted Living reached out to me (I think in part because of my original review about my Grandmother's room being messy). They gave me information on the cleaning schedule and also gave me resources and a contact to reach out to if there is a mess in my Grandmother's room. My Grandmother's room has been clean every time I have visited since we spoke with the facility's administrator and I'm confident that our issue has been resolved now. I am happy that they took the time and effort to look into the issue. Initial issue: My Grandma's room (she is 97) is often messy when I visit. My Mom and I have both noticed it on several occasions over about a one-month period. My Mom has mentioned it a few times to the staff but it appears they haven't made any changes to fix the issue.

My 90 year old grandmother moved into this facility following a hip replacement. Several months after moving in my family was informed by the head nurse that my grandmother needed memory care because "she couldn't find her room" and stated that she had a week to move out. This was precipitated by little to no communication about the fact that my grandmother was having trouble with this and there was no collaboration or problem solving sought with my family in regards to this problem. My mother who is an occupational therapist took a week off of work to find a new living situation. Following this she was evaluated by the new facility who did not feel she required memory care and felt they could in fact do the job of helping her find her room if need be. I am an ICU nurse in the area and I found myself completely appalled at the lack of communication and care collaboration that this facility engaged in. In addition to this it is obvious as a healthcare professional that many older adults need time to adjust to new living environments especially after medical procedures and/or illnesses- each move/event precipitates a possible "mental hit" that with proper care often resolve. However, Grace took no such approach to the care of my grandmother. She did suffer another decline in her memory following moving which likely would not have happened if she had not had to be moved when she did not need to be. Now months later she is doing so much better after having time to adjust to her new facility. She has started sewing again, doing activities, her mood has improved, and although she does need help with some things- she doesn't require memory care. Ultimately I am thankful because we are getting better care and collaboration with the new facility. I would caution against anyone considering this facility. I would not want my loved one in their care.

Allen, Admin. at Grace on Allumbaugh, is discourteous. He refused to let my sister receive a chair. He threatened to call the police if I brought her chair, which she owns, to the location. Very distressing. My mother was at this facility from 2008 to 2012; service was excellent; my mother and I met with the owners and administrator for lunch and had a great time. How things have changed. Grace must now have a different "business model". Because of my Mom's experience, my wife is a resident of Grace Memory Unit, Meridian, currently. I am going to start a search for another location for my wife as a result of the attitude management showed me today. He may be following "Corporate Policy" but failed to even consider that I already had the chair in my vehicle and would deliver it to my sister's room. She has confusion. I helped her with the space requirements for all furniture using your floor model and to scale marked the space for all furniture in her front room. Without the chair there is no seating in her front room and she only has one other chair she sleeps in. My explanation was not considered; in fact Allen "bullied up" about my interference. Crazy. I asked to see my sister and he said he would not allow it...I talked to my sister on the phone and she did not issue an order not to see me. More Crazy. My sister and I used the to scale floor plan Grace provided to lay out furniture including what I attempted to deliver to her front room. Everything fit easily with over 28 inches around all planned items. Actually two of these chairs would fit easily as they are only 36 inches wide and 38 deep; the chair was $2000+ from Ennis, in superb condition. NOT LISTENING. CALLED my sister's DAUGHTER in Washington so he could hear "NO"; not involving my sister. The remaining furniture to be moved is all for her bedroom coming from another family member. I am disappointed. But small issues today make for a break in and from Grace so to speak. YES PRINT THIS. Customer service beware.
