This place is awful. My wife went here because she needed to see a psychiatrist to help with her mental health issues. My wife only saw the doctor 3 times for a total of less then 10 minutes! That is unacceptable. “Dr.” Bhullar did ABSOLUTELY nothing. This place offered no help to someone that needs help. The people who took phone calls were always rude and short talking down to people because I need my questions answered and needed my wife to get help. Majority of the people don’t care that they’re supposed to help people and assist others. After my wife was released the doctor said he would give her the paper work so she can turn it in to her employers but the doctor never gave it us. When we called to ask for it they told us the doctor should have given it to us but he clearly did not and they said it is almost impossible to get the paperwork after being released. Clear these “health care providers” do not care at all about their patients well being.

The staff is really rude. A female staff member hung up in my face. I receive several calls from a patient who has the wrong number. I been getting calls day and night and voicemails. When contacting the hospital, a staff member answered asked which patient I wanted to speak to. I answered not a patient, she immediately said well bye and hung up. I have spoke to patient prior. At the time I did not know the number was to a mental hospital. I then received several more calls (over 15 calls and voicemails)I am concerned about that patient since The staff shows lack of care, responsibility and respect. The voicemails are concerning from the patient as well. I don’t believe they are doing their jobs correctly. I am looking for a corporate number.

i came on to this page initially for the number to the hospital, but i was curious to see if there were any new changes since i was admitted 2 YEARS ago. and it’s heartbreaking to see that it’s exactly the same. Ashley and Olivia should be fired, and i don’t understand how they are still working there, considering how often their names are negatively talked about. is it because the people who are admitted can’t have opinions on them because we’re mentally ill? what is the reason as to why 2 people who are disrespectful, power hungry, and don’t actually care about the kids in there, STILL working at a mental hospital. Ashley and Olivia have the nastiest attitude and likes to claim it’s because she has “tough love”, but what is she doing that’s actually tough love? giving attitude to 16 year olds? yelling at kids who have triggers and don’t understand coping methods? It’s not a surprise that Ashley and Olivia are always together, their exactly the same. is this really the type of people that you would want treating your kids who are mentally i’ll and need help? DO BETTER FOR US.

The worst hospital for mental illness… every single person who works there has no true clue idea what mental illness is… they provide babysitting services not medical treatment. There’s such a disconnect in our country and the treatment for this disease…. When it comes to mental health (we) are a third world country of sorts.

I don’t feel that patients who really need help are just being released . My nephew is going to kill someone and than himself but he’s being sent home !!! No meds tried and zero therapy ! I’m scared to death for my sister. I’m on the east coast and please someone help!! The reviews sound awful.
Yes you can, but there are set visiting hours. You can call the hospital to get more detailed information 916 288- 0300.
Bring him for evaluation it is not as bad as people think if he needs help bring him to get help. They have resources that can help.
He will be ok they will help get back on meds and also help with anything else he will need help with
Your son has his code, he needs to give it to you. He may be choosing not to. But remember he is safe and being watched 24/7.
The system is set up to teach the patients to lie about how they feel to get out. Without lying you’ll never get out and it is absolutely miserable in there. They also teach you nothing and don’t give emotional support. They literally just legally have to watch you to make sure you’re not harming anyone or yourself and don’t care if the patients are actually getting better or not. You can try to get him admitted on a 52-50 (involuntary 14 day minimum) but keep in mind that 90% of patients will leave the second theyre legally able to, which on a 51-50 (most common) is 72 hours. I highly suggest enrolling him in an outpatient hospital program (8 hours a day every day for about 2 weeks but he will come home every night) because they will actually teach you coping skills and help you work on your mental health (at least at sutter). I also highly suggest getting him thoroughly psychologically tested so any disorders he has will be found and diagnosed and then can be acted on.
Hopefully they put you on their release of information and if so the social worker will reach out to you. Or your son may call you directly from the patient phone. If he does call you make sure to get his patient code!
Honestly, awful. They do the bare minimum and i believe deep down that going there did nothing for my mental health. I did not see sunlight once and the time i was there we excersised for only 30 mins. The group meetings were mainly focused on drug/alchohol use and abuse, and considering i was in there for depression and suicidal thoughts or actions it felt like a waste of my time.
There is a separate building behind the hospital for outpatient services. The main building is inpatient service. Try the back side if you need an appointment. Or, if you're looking to establish a doctor, go to Methodist or Kaiser nearby.
There should be a free to use phone in every block. You can call the front desk and ask for their number. There is also a visiting hour, though the times vary depending on the block. (Again, you should ask)
Coed facility; but not coed rooms.
I would suggest paying for private practitioners in counseling.
Sometimes
You can walk in, but the staff will have to call an ambulance and they will take you to kaiser which is 0.2 miles away, they will evaluate you there and medically clear you, then send you back to Sierra Vista. I am 100% positive of this process, and it is the same at all of the behavioral hospitals in the area. I am an EMT that has performed a large amount of these types of transports
