As a secretary myself, your main job is to assist those who call in a respectful and well manner. Ariana definitely does not meet those expectations. She bluntly cuts you off before telling you there is nothing she can do, when indeed there is. Letting people finish speaking is definitely a quality a secretary needs. Besides that, I have not encountered a problem with anyone else nor the union itself.

Hard work pays off to be in the union. Great benefits and great pay. Keep grinding!! The spanish ladies there are hella nice and patient.

I have 25 YRS in LIUNA & have never been treated so poorly. An office person first initial “A“ thinks Because her daddy is a BA or who she’s sleeping with, she can treat the members with absolute disrespect. Conversely, Sarah is always friendly and goes out of her way to help the members.

This is just like waiting at Home Depot for a job, no one cares . If you loose your job you can be on the list and they can call you months later,if you pay your dues. Not worth it.

(916 )928 -8300 .yes there is a joining fee and then monthy dues. They do have an apprentice program the cuts the fee to join into 2 separate payments to get you started and the training is free.
They have orientation on Tuesday at 9 am. They will have all info for you.
Here's the number to local 185 9169288300
Go to local 185 on tuesday mornings at 8:45 and attend their orientation. Orientation starts at 9 am and they will answer all your questions.

Are you a union member? If so, you need to contact a buisness manager and have them investigate .are you sure they didnt just slow down for winter ?
Taking the hazwoper cert right now thanks
I would give the local 185 in Sacramento a call so that you can get more info. You might have to pay dues again, I could be wrong though.
They are not mandatory but it's a good way to network and meet new people
You can freeze your laborers account as long as you continue paying your monthly due to save the pention and after you havent worked for 2 years you can take the annuity out or leave it there but the carpenter's union has nothing to do with the laborers as far as i know .
I believe it starts at 11 im not sure i would call the hall to make sure
