We came here for the annual Frisco barbecue competition and it was a great time. A lot of people visit but it still feels very small town. I love the intimacy of smaller crowds when there are live performances. It almost feels like they're playing just for you. All of the food that we tried was delicious and the lines were really long but they moved pretty quickly. They were really efficient about trash making sure that everything was separated into recycles and food scraps and they even had buckets to dump the rest of your drink if you are going to throw it away. And everyone that I encountered was super friendly. It felt like a festival full of friends. I hope to come back maybe next year. They also have a free museum so you can learn a little bit about the local history. Highly recommend stopping by especially if you have never been here.

We had some time before we went up to Breckenridge and did the entire tour and got all of the stamps in the pressed book. Definitely a cool way to spend an hour or less and there is a lot of history to be learned.

For the People By the People

Neat and free! Get your (free)passport in the schoolhouse and stamp it in each building. Gives the kiddos something to do while parents read about the history! Beautiful town!

Wow, what a gem of a place! The staff was exceptionally kind, and all the buildings we got to visit were immaculately maintained. Apparently they’re open on a rotation (presumably because of the extent to which they must clean them for covid) but the main museum and the buildings we got to visit were still awesome. And now we can’t wait to go back and visit the places that weren’t open today! I love that they have a scavenger hunt at the model train for kids. My kids adored it. I’m so grateful this place exists and that everyone was so nice!
