I believe it's all online. I just went when they opened. They let all the appointments in first but it only took me about 15-20 minutes and I was done.

They are not answering phone calls right now. But if you Google the driver's license bureau and follow the links like the gentleman said then you can make an appointment. That's the only way that you can get in there.

I waited 6 weeks...no show. They said it was mailed out but it never arrived. I had to re-submit and it came in about 3 weeks.

Each case is different. There is no set time. You would need to contact the Topeka drivers solutions department or come into the Mission office and speak with their Driver Solutions representative for him to be able to get you that information

There are no open driver license offices on Saturdays any longer. State changed the hours to Monday-Friday (8-4:45) back in October...this is coming from a Mission Drivers License employee

According to the Kansas DOR, the permit affidavit must be signed by a parent or legal guardian if the applicant is under age 18, so if the applicant is under that age, then most likely not.

No it's not. I recommend getting a copy of the book. In my experience they ask several odd questions such as, "which way is your body thrown if your run into from such and such side? How far should you be looking while driving in an urban area? And, what is the average response lag time of a persons vision?".

Go renew it before you get pulled over and have to pay a ticket for driving without a valid drivers license. Not sure if there is a late fee. If there is, it's minimal. They can't charge more than you pay for a new licence. New one is how much in Kansas? $20ish?

If you're the legal parent or guardian, you might need to bring some kind of proof. They might try to give you a sheet for you to log driving times (they need to know that the individual in question has 50hrs behind the wheel if I'm not mistaken) just write that you are the legal parent/guardian and that you verify that he/she has 50 or more hours of time driving practice. Then sign the document. That's what my mother did for me and they accepted it.

They always tell me 6 to 8 weeks. One time I got it back in less than a week, another time it took about 6 weeks. But since they say it might be 8 weeks, plan on that if you have the luxury of that kind of time.

The eye doctor has a form specifically for the DMV they will give you. That’s all you need. You won’t have to take the eye test if you have that form because it’s proof of your vision status. FYI, Costco is 72 dollars for a thorough eye exam. They will fill out the DMV form for you and give you a prescription too if you want one (even if you don’t need glasses to drive but might get some later just to see a little better). You do NOT need a Costco card either unless you want to buy their glasses. But no need for one if you just want the exam
