I wish I didn't have to resort to a Google review but here we go. I had a previous DR from here prescribe me medication then left JCMH the same day. I had severe reactions and NO ONE to follow up with. Lost my job. THEN I was assigned to Marijen Aga. Who KICKED ME OUT OF MY APPOINTMENT. Why? Because I said I didn't want the student doctor present during my appointment. I was NEVER informed of the student doctor. No one warned me. No one asked. And when I showed my discomfort. I was forced to LEAVE MY appointment. I made a compliant. And NO ONE HAS FOLLOWED UP. No one. I've been severely depressed and my suicidal ideation has been flaring ever since. Never have I felt more alone. Do NOT trust this place with your mental health. Also. When you call the crisis hotline when you're suicidal, the team lead Shelby Alvarez will contact you. She'll ensure you get help. Then she will forget to send an email to set you up with a therapist. And you'll be told "It was an honest mistake." And meanwhile you've wanted to die 500 times in the weeks it took her to realize her mistake. This place is trash. Absolute garbage.

Very difficult to use this service. For some reason they won’t book med check appointments more than two weeks out, and 90% of the time I call to make an appointment, they tell me to call back the next day. Also the psychiatrist here denied me certain medication because of a 13 year old marijuana charge from when I was a young teenager. Not impressed w my experience here.

I could never judge these other low ratings as they have a right to feel how they feel, but I'm very, very happy with my therapist Michael K. (don't know if it's appropriate to put full names on here). I came here yeeeears ago and wasn't able to give these 5 stars, but I can happily say JCMH deserves 5 stars now, at least from my experience. It's super important to find the right fit for you and I hope each of you reading this review has the positive results I have had so far. Thank you and I look forward to my next session.

I went there for mental help due to already trying to find someone through my insurance. She said I did not meet the requirements and would help me find the right help. Just gave me a sheet of for numbers to call and sent me home.

Why does the JCMHC Transportation change? - It used to be available all day to transport clients to therapy (and to work) ? Any body feel left out like me?

The reason that this has changed is because RideKC now offers anyone within certain boundaries, the new Metrotransit rides. It is actually pretty cool. I use it all the time now. You can download the app, it's called Metrotransit, and you can ride anywhere for $1.50. It runs between 6 am and 8 pm. It's a large van, that is wheelchair accessible, to take you anywhere you need to go. I take it to work, to Wal-Mart, the mall, to JoCo Mental Health. If you go online you can print out tickets for 4 free rides. If you have Medicaid, JoCo Mental Health requires that you use the services they offer or this new system. I don't know the exact logistics for it, but I've found this to be extremely useful! Hope this helps!
